Compromise with Ross and say the big games like FSU, UF, etc. will still be played at Sun Life due to their additional capacity.
The big games are what builds the character of a venue.

Beckham has no intentions of adding the Canes to the stadium since everything Beckham group tells the city officials is the stadium will be no larger than 25K and will only be used at nights when the Port traffic is lower. They also thrown in they won't use the stadium when the Heat are playing.
The ACC owns Miami's TV game rights and the ACC not UM tells us what time Canes games are played based on what ESPN wants. No way ESPN would allow UM under their contract to play only night games since ACC/ESPN calls the shots on what time UM plays games. There is no way UM could only play night games and any stadium agreement to use that stadium only at night would be a deal breaker to the Canes.
The Sun Life concession vender is back to defend his employer. Tell what a great stadium it is, how we all should appreciate it more.
111 posts, all in stadium threads, all mistruths and speculations. I'm starting to hope UM bails on Slum Life stadium just because of how much it'll **** you off and cost you income.
It runs for 700 miles, so, yeah, bigass fitsOh it's a bigass river? Not impressed.
Oh, it's a glorified canal that goes out the ocean....I'm not impressed. What's your point? The site we're looking at is not on the beach. It's an industrial site. I don't really think you understand what you're talking about here, other than saying, "it's in Miami, it must be better than what's in Tennessee."
Not impressed with Biscayne Bay? Interesting.
I never implied that PortMiami was on the beach, I did imply that it is exponentially more aesthetically pleasing than a river in Tennessee. This isn't even debatable.

Looks pretty similar to me.

That's a bigass river. Or is that technically a creek?
Oh wait, you mean our admin wants to raise money to make the University of Miami a better school and a new football stadium is not in the forefront of their plans at the moment?
Oh wait, who says donors for education would want even one penny of their contribution going to a football stadium?
Oh wait, where exactly are we finding land to build this stadium?
Oh wait, why do you comically underestimate the cost of this project repeatedly?
As an alumni, I understand the importance of these other items and I am not against them AT ALL. I also understand the importance of athletics to our school, especially the football program.
I am only saying that if it was a PRIORITY this ADMIN could get it done. They don't have it as a priority at all.
I already explained to you we had the land. We choose to sell it for a HIGHER PRIORITY. We could get other land, there is plenty of vacant land and distressed projects in Miami. In addition, we could attempt to negotiate with Dade County for areas like Tropical Park.
As for the donors, has the school asked? Has the school polled the alumni (like BAYLOR did) and gauged interest? Although I saw your informal poll above (very clever), the answer to both are no.
You have to remember this stadium will GENERATE REVENUE. It is okay to spend money on this investment now in order to generate future returns. This stadium is not a sunk cost project, it generates revenue for the university.
Again, you don't need to have all the MONEY for the stadium TODAY. You start with a plan.

The City/Dade county already told UM to forget about Tropical Park and told Donna to cut a deal with FIU in their Tamiami public park. Dade county told UM they are a private school not a public school so no land. The country shares FIU stadium which meet all the County School borad needs for high school football. If UM ever gets a stadium it will either be a lease like we have with the Dolphins or even worst FIU (sic). If UM gets their own stadium it won't get much help from the City/County especially if UM needs help from the County for eminent domain court issues.
UM will have to raise the money to buy land, build roads and pay for building a stadium by themselves. So if fans don't show up then it bankrupts UM and they eliminate the football program or drop to a lower NCAA division. All because some of you let Noles and Gator get under your skin about attendance insults that won't ever stop.
No way UM makes more money at Beckham stadium than at SLS now. Also, No way if UM build their own stadium that would cost $500K for land and stadium construction it would any GENERATE REVENUE PROFIT since it would cost more for insurances, stadium maintenance and field upkeep, personnel salary and property taxes than the $4 or $5 million we pay per the Miami Herald each year for SLS.
I'd rather be at SLS for 40+ years than share a ****ty little stadium with FIU at Tamiami Park.

Says the 7n7 soccer guy that loves Beckman from his underwear ads. Maybe Beckham will give you a job painting on his toe nail polish.

Stupid idea I think.

In the ******* water.
Party boat tailgating would make UM even more unique. I think this is one of the most badass ideas we've ever had.
