Barry Jackson in Herald today on Manny Diaz

Barry Jackson said:
"So here’s what Diaz must do now: Tell Enos he wants to experiment, at least next season, with a high-octane spread with large doses of no-huddle, a system that gets Miami’s explosive playmakers in space and doesn’t require the deficient offensive line to hold blocks for as long. If Enos agrees to do it, great. If not, then they should go their separate ways...."

Barry was OK until he got to this. If we go to a "high-octane spread" we need an OC who believes in it like it's his religion and has shown that he's highly effective at it. It's just not Enos's thing and the result would look half-assed no matter how well-intentioned. Manny needs to come to grips with the fact that he was right about the offense initially when he was first hired and that he made a mistake in taking the big name from Alabama that wasn't the best fit for what we have. It's a big deal to fire a highly paid OC after year 1, but if Manny's gonna make it as a head coach, he has to do whatever it takes to correct mistakes.
