barry jackson article

Why does Richt deserve another season? The offense regressed exponentially in Year 3. Yes, Rosier has his limitations and Perry inexperienced. Yes, the OL is underperforming. It is Richt’s fault he doesn’t have a QB he can trust. It is Richt’s fault the OL is sub-par.

Nothing he did at UGA matters here. What matters is Year 3 at The U may end with a six game losing streak. Seven games if some minor bowl wants a team with no offense.

He's going way too easy on Corch Richt. **** Thomas Brown calling plays. Jon needs to go elsewhere, and a real QB coach/OC needs to be hired. Someone that is flexible and able to adjust to the talent and put them in positions to be successful.

Tired of watching Richt flail away on square pegs and round holes.

He doesn't deserve another season and Jackson never said he did. All he said was that he is going to get one no matter what, which is correct.

I said in the game thread that Mork was gonna blame the rain.

A subdued Richt on WQAM afterward: “Malik playing mostly in the rain and the mud in the first half anyway."

I'm of the opinion that the rain was the Miami MVP. If it doesn't rain the game isn't that close. Miami is a bad football team right now.

Fire Barney Jacksoff too. He’s a moron with his “you gotta let Richt call plays next year too because of his great success at UbaGA.” Huh? Where was all this success at UbaGA?

And he seems to have forgotten that Richt didn't even call plays at UGA for many years before coming here.

yeah def dont agree with that but I agree to give the youngsters more burn to gain experience and dump rosier

Everybody knew we were going to throw the ball? Miami took over at the 47 yard line with 12:56 left down 17-12 and you now decide to put Perry back in? Richt is an idiot.

Jackson is a hack.

I read otherwise...

It’s almost impossible to envision Richt being forced out anytime soon even if next season starts poorly, too. And with his body of work as a college coach, he shouldn’t be forced out this season, under any circumstances.

Can Richt recruit the quality of elite athletes he lured to Georgia to successfully run his pro-style offense here? He deserves another recruiting class and another season with this offensive philosophy (albeit with more creativity injected and more designed rollouts, among other things), because it was good enough for a lot of years in Athens.

Could it be justified to move to a new offensive philosophy next season? Absolutely. But Richt deserves another year to see if he can get it right with his offensive scheme, with some tinkering and perhaps more bells and whistle

Is it really a small vocal minority that wants Richt fired?.If so we're in for a long painful ride.

honestly, i would not be surprised if he resigned at some point. he looks checked out

Our main problem isn't playing experience. Poor coaching across the board on offense is our problem. Richt and Richt, Jr. are killing us. Richt's time at UGA should have no bearing on any decision UM would make about his tenure or responsibilities. Player personnel decisions are terrible. Play calling is terrible. Player development is terrible. Richt's offense, all five plays, are terrible. And we have zero QBs in the 2019 class...terrible.

"I will be surprised if athletic director Blake James forces Richt to hire an offensive coordinator, or relinquish play-calling, if he’s opposed. That’s not James’ style."

True...Blake James "style" is to dutifully go home, put on his Gwildor costume, while the wife dresses up (with her, it takes two minutes, tops) as He-Man and berates him all night
