I've been saying all along I think he should play corner. He's got the frame, speed, and athleticism for it. He's also raw enough to not have any bad habits. Rumph can build him from the ground up in technique.
Obviously football is in his blood and he's got a decent IQ for only playing 2 years to go along with good ball skills. It would not surprise me at all to see him be a ST guy this year while working at CB then next year be a solid contributor on the defense as the number 3 or 4 guy.

Summary:
-Malek Young will see playing time as Corn and Redwine did not show enough to be named "clear" starters giving the incoming freshman a chance to play early.

I think that might be a touched misread...
"Malek Young has an immediate chance to compete for a top five-cornerback job, because none of the young corners behind Corn Elder and Sheldrick Redwine did enough in the spring to remove doubts."
I think what the author was saying is the Elder and Redwine have slots secured, the other CBs do not as of yet...
That's so sad that Corn and Redwine couldn't seperate

I think it's saying exactly what it says. Especially since Redwine isn't starting opposite corn. Colbert is.

Not a good sign for Redwine to have a career backup for very mediocre defenses at Texas to show up and take his spot just like that.
