Barry J. article summary on "behind the scenes" problems.

This is terrible. Someone wanted that out for a reason. Manny seems to lock stuff down when he wants to. When they want something out, it gets leaked. It makes me wonder if the player(s) who talked did so with the encouragement or knowledge of Manny and staff... Or if it came from someone who graduated and was angry....
Could've came from all the early departures who were fed up with the bull****

Jarren seem like he won’t learn unless something drastic happens. Like getting kicked off the team(or multiple teams) and ending at a JC. This team will be going nowhere with him as the leader at his current maturity level. Manny needs to grow some balls get rid of his ***.

On our good teams this was player enforced. Shaq should have benched them. ****, I saw a HS girls soccer player during game yell at a coach to get X player off the field.

This was a ******* hit piece by Barry jackson and already picking up national headlines. Hate Miami reporters. They will drag the program through the mud at any cost. ******* leeches

Good that means Manny is going to be under an even greater level of scrutiny going forward... he’s been getting away with making it seem like the only issues with this team are on field and just the offensive side when in fact it’s much bigger problems that the HC is responsible for.

What type of bit*hmade teammate talks **** as an “anonymous player” about his teammates to a reporter?!?!

THAT seems like the real indictment on our program. Not someone smoking weed or missing curfew. I’d bet anything that these “anonymous players” will snitch on a teammate in a heartbeat to get ahead. That’s some soft a$$ weak **** right there.
What kind of bytchmade teammate breaks curfew and smokes and drinks before games and quits the team a bunch of times? Some of you guys got your priorities all twisted up trying to protect the wrong guys.

I don't know...

But what I do know is, you can't learn to be a disciplinarian, you either are or you're not & once you show that you're not its virtually impossible to pretend like you are after the fact.

The toothpaste is already out of the tube, who he is is who he is, Coaches just like Tigers don't change their stripes. You don't start out as an easy going pushover & then evolve into a hardass iron fist ruler, it usually goes the other way around.

Players respect authenticity & consistency, if you show them a different kind of leader every year they don't believe you. If he's going to try & be more strict as a HC his best bet is get rid of every kid on the team that didn't listen to him, the problem is if he did that he wouldn't have a full team to field for the season lol.
Authenticity is the last word that comes to mind when I think of Manny Diaz. EVERYTHING he does is forced, and manufactured. Not a **** thing is authentic. He's like a knock off head coach you'd find at an inner city flea market. Not a **** thing genuine about him.

Why do think it is a player? Sounds to me like it is one of the recently departed coaches who called Barry Jackson up.

If you are an ex-Miami coach who is looking for gig, wouldn't you like a news article you can point to say it wasn't your coaching, but the doped up players that resulted in the losses while you were coaching at Miami.

It's a technique prosecuters use all the time to get a judge's approval; leak something to the media to get a story written and then use the story as a probable cause basis for the judge to allow a search, issue a records subpeona, etc.

Everybody is singling out Jarren & for good reason, as he deserves it...

But if you think he's the only QB drinking/smoking & not taking football seriously you're sadly mistaken.

Some of yall are gonna have to come to terms with the fact your boy Tathaniel isn't the innocent little angel yall believe him to be.

Everybody knows Perry's get down lol, but there's a reason why Tate the Great spent the entire season just chasing after his girlfriend & "taking a leave of absence" for weeks & weeks at a time.

Yeah.... not a whole lot of common sense in this thread. It’s the RFrosh fault that the offense was trash? Some Miami fans are retarded. Why wasn’t the RFrosh replaced? Makes no sense. Tate got playing time after Leaving to go chill with his girl. What was he doing the rest of the year? Where was Perry? Editing videos?

This is a clown show.

Manny is a players coach. He can't change into a strict authoritarian figure overnight bc the players won't respect it. What Manny needs to do is keep his hands clean and have someone play the bad cop. I'm starting to see where the Highsmith role could be very useful. Let Manny make the laws and Highsmith enforce them.

All of this info on Williams is pretty well known but the fact that BJ decided to publish it now I think is strategic. Someone high up wants Jarren gone. I also think Jarren got a heads up about the piece which explains why he posted a random workout pic.

When we discuss what evaluations mean and why Butch did it better, one big area is character. Not in the sense of being nice or a good person, but the traits needed to succeed and avoid pitfalls.
Yep. He also did a good job cutting bait with guys who rocked the boat.

Remember the year he benched all the veteran WRs (German, Omar Rolle and Magic Benton) and went with freshmans like Santana and Reggie? It’s like those veteran kids fell off the face of the earth. Never heard another word out of them as soon as he pitchforked them.

If Dan Enos wants another job, he'd have to paint the culture at Miami as severely toxic. "See? Now you see why I didn't do so well there." It wouldn't be a lie, either.

Manny has no control over the team. He needs to go.

I suspect we have had similar problems off and on, for years.

I was traveling in from the airport several days before our big NC Fiesta Bowl game against Penn State. The van driver told me he had picked up some UM players early in the morning after a full night of partying.

I found that of concern. Now I know JJ took the traveling squad to stay away from the regular team motel to stay at an isolated location just before the game, but I don't know how many nights he did that. I saw guys who never really played who seemed to be around and not observing a curfew. These guys were on scholarship but were probably practice squad. They almost never seemed to play. Maybe they did on special teams like PAT but I probably never would have noticed that. I don"t know if the guys who the van driver picked up were guys who were going to play in the game.

I vaguely recall another important bowl game--one we also lost--where I heard a similar report.

So, partying all night before important games might be a problem from time-to-time. Whether thus happened the night before a game, I don't know, and I don't know if it makes a difference just for one night.

I don't know if the team can practice well if it happens days or a week before a big game.
