At some point I hope Tate gets a shot at QB...

Practice is one thing, game time is a whole different atmosphere and some players shine on game day, others choke. If pretty looking counted Bernie would never have been tried at QB.

We have seen it live and it wasn't good at all. And lol at calling jarren dink and dunk when tate arm is even weaker. And all tate did in garbage time at osu was dink and dunk.

Yes, it'd be fun for him to get some snaps against the likes of an FIU in a few weeks—but his legend is far outliving his actual abilities if he can't win a starting job.

You bring up a good point...and I’m worried we are making the same mistake this year. JW should’ve gotten some burn last year towards the end of the season so we (the coaches) could see how he responded in live game action. He could’ve maintained his redshirt and got game action to prepare him for UF. If they guys ahead are not getting the job done you’ve got to at least try and see what else you got as options. We’re sitting at 4-4 and neither JW or Kosi are lighting the world on fire. yes I understand we have OL issues and **** still calling plays, but we have to try something to see if Tate can respond differently or light a fire (consistently) for this team. We might as well see what he can do so we can definitively move on from him as an option at QB even for next year (assuming he doesn’t transfer out).

I get the point of people making of him not beating out the other two, but that just raises concerns on the development/coaching side. None of the first 2 seem to be getting much better (just like the rest of the team) and can’t make Tate any better?? Urban had Cardele ready to go when it came to that point, whether it was scheming to mask his weaknesses or just good development/coaching for the 3rd string QB. Fink for USC was ready to go as well when his number was called.

Have you seen his OSU highlights? Not just the Rutgers highlights. It shows a highly mobile QB with great pocket awareness, on the run, putting the ball on the money where receivers can catch it.

More importantly it shows Tate taking off before the pocket breaks completely down and its too late.

Yes i seen the garbage time vs both rutgers and tulane. And yes i seen all the short passes he made and thats the same shít yall criticize jarren for. And the one deep ball he threw was short and that's the same shît jarren gets clowned for.

We alredy have jarren who can complete short passes at a high rate and his are more accurate than tate. Im fine with some packages if you want to use his legs.
 
Until we see Tate in a real game situation, then no one knows for sure if he is the answer. Some players are what I call practice players, who can dazzle a coach into thinking they could be the next Tom Brady. Others do not shine in practice, but can become a QB who can take charge and lead a team when all the bullets count. So far the other 2 QBs are inconsistent at best. Both have a pro(s) and con(s). Both are a hard hit away from being sidelined for the rest of the season. If nothing else, Tate should see some playing time just to see whether or not he could help the team or not.

What you didn't see is Tate getting sacked. He takes off before the pocket completely collapses, which Jarren doesn't do.
