Arky State Game cancelled Thread

But, how the **** can the players focus on the game, when their minds are worry about their family back home.

So glad someone brought this up. Let's be real here, both players and coaches would have the families back home and that weighing on their mind. If the administration thought this was the best course of action, then I'm willing to go along with that

Could we have played the game on Thursday or Friday and still have the whole team back home to be with their families?

We are afraid to play Arky State because they almost beat Nebraska cmon man that makes no sense. They are mad because their podunk town is not going to make the money and get the exposure they would have gotten if we came to town plain and simple. No more has to be said.

This shows UM is about family its what separates us from other programs IMO.........**** if i was a player im going home with the fam fuq everything else. To me UM comes out looking good it shows they care while the other school dont give a fuq

+1

God forbid we consider our players human beings.

Puts us at a disadvantage. Logistically I think it could have worked but pushing the game up one day on such short notice would give AssState an unfair advantage.

It's ******* ARKY STATE! "disadvantage" what the fvck are you even talking about?

Answer my question. It's the sentence with the question mark at the end of it.

We lose a full day of preparation.

The schedule is Monday off, practice Tuesday, practice Wednesday, practice Thursday, travel Friday, play Saturday. We lose a full day of preparation by agreeing to play. UCF and Memphis agreed to move their game up to Friday but that's a conference game and it's in their best interest to play. We clearly were happy to capitalize on this scenario...I won't deny that. But to fly out there early and be hasty about this with the looming threat of everything back home getting wiped out the next day (with the potential of being stranded in Arkansas) made this an easy decision.

Does the other team also lose that same day of preparation or just us?

I am not even getting involved in the should/shouldn't play this weekend debate.

I am, however, concerned about what this storm might do to the rest of our season.

Let's hope Ark St is the only game that gets cancelled.

If they lose to FSU..... ESPECIALLY if they come out looking unprepared, they are going to get ripped to shreds by this fanbase.

The team is CHOOSING to give up practice time and a tune-up game. We'll see how it works out for them.

Practices for this week are cancelled and nothing is being schedule until Irma is over.

They could have been in Atlanta practicing.

Sounds plausible. A spur of the moment decision to move 150 people to Georgia for a week.

According to Ariz's post, holding practices in Atlanta was the alternative they were considering.

Well...I guess that would've been the best move from a football perspective. Nobody down here gives a chit about football right now.

CAPITALIZE ON THIS SCENARIO? Do you honestly think that the "normal schedule" is going to continue? Do you HONESTLY believe that we are going to practice on Wednesday and Thursday of this week?

WE WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER OFF, purely from a football standpoint, to move EVERYTHING to Memphis or Atlanta for the next 2-3 weeks, and act as if Irma wasn't going to impact our FOOTBALL TEAM at all.

Stop it with this "full day of preparation" nonsense. We are about to lose almost 2 full weeks of preparation.

Why couldn't we play the game on Thursday night or Friday night and still get the players and staff home in time to be with their families?

Who cares whats done is done they look good doing this especially in the community, its ark state i mean we talkin bout ark state..... not a game...... but ark state

I promise you that nobody on the team is taking this as seriously as you are. People here are more worried about staying alive lol.

Preparing for a hurricane is a little more complex than "being with your family".

Right, because this is totally comparable to taping 5 year old kids to your front door.. I bet you would be that ***** that'd leave their family in an emergency because "it's the safer place to be". Talk about a ******* snowflake.

I would be that pvssy who would knock all your teeth out and leave your face swelled up like you have anaphylactic shock.

Dude you sound like a lunatic. Take a step back. It's just a game.

Why won't you just answer the question? It's a simple yes or no.

Why you actin all soft on this one?

Agree 100%. It's far safer for the players to stay in Miami. After all, there are lots of hurricanes that make landfall in Arkansas, such as Hurricane ?

After the hurricane, there could be more Zika, malaria, dengue, blah, blah, blah. Better cancel the rest of the season to stay ahead of all the other future natural disasters that could arise.

WHAT EXCUSE DO WE REALLY HAVE TO NOT PLAY THIS GAME?
HELPING TO BOARD UP A HOUSE REALLY MY *****?

THEIR AD MAKING US LOOK REALLY BAD BECAUSE HE GOT ESPN TO MOVE THE GAME UP TO FRIDAY TO ACCOMMODATE US TRAVEL WISE AND BLAKE STILL SAID NO LOL.
