I agree I was there in Atlanta for that GT loss, it hurt bad. I just sat there and watched as there fans partied all over the field

I only remember seeing that huge DT Biggers get drafted but again they're a really good football team too. Brent Key has something special, He's getting really talented players & top OL recruits

Remember how they took UGA through like 7-8 Overtimes? Ask Carson Beck about Haynes King, that kid is a f'n baller.
Our Canes should have beat them by 14+.

Same with Syracuse.

Catastrophic atmospherics over and over.

Miami gonna Miami meng. Watch the wheels come off the wagon this season if they aren't careful.

On Day 3 of the 2022 NFL Draft, Jon Ford was selected in the 7th Round with the 234th pick. This was Miami's only pick of the Draft. The talent drain was a big reason Mario Cristobal replaced Manny Diaz as coach.

Three years later, and Miami had seven picks in the draft (tied for 6th overall among college teams). This includes the #1 overall pick and another second rounder.

We aren't where we need to be yet in terms of roster, and we still need to get more out of the players we have. But this is significant progress.
True story now if we can only get them to all come together as one unit. We definitely have improved our talent level. No question about that.

Sure Miami had some guys drafted, but we are miles away from the teams like Bama, UGA, OSU, Mich, etc.

And that isn’t changing with the last couple classes Mario brought in either.
I get this point, but y’all gotta take Bama out of this. They had the same number of kids drafted as we did.

We had 16 players drafted in the 2015 and 2016 drafts.
Those were talented teams. I’m working on a long series now, and what’s clear is that the Richt/Diaz eras completely decimated our talent level (which was already down from the peaks of Butch).

U do realize, before u make that long series, that out of 14 players drafted so far under Mario, 57% were Manny Diaz recruits, correct?

Jmo, but I would temper that article until we see the draft results of 2026, which will be all of Mario’s players either via HS recruiting &/or portal to gage our talent appraisal between regimes b/c right now it’s running even.

Those will count to Diaz’s total.

The biggest takeaway so far is that Shannon and Golden did better than expected in talent acquisition, and Richt and Diaz were awful.

They did, but their quality of picks trumps ours, & so does Bama. It’s y, since 2016 I’ve admonished this board to stop comparing ourselves w/ the nation & strictly focus on the ACC. This is our weight class, right now.
Sure, but for Mario’s third year, I’m happy with it.

My only complaint is the WRs not getting drafted. I think that’s the more important question to examine. What happened here that none of the WRs from the #1 offense didn’t get drafted? Did they really think it was all Cam? Or perhaps everyone but the WRs, since the OL / TE / RB were drafted? We discussed X’s 40 time ad nauseam prior to the draft, but clearly it was more than that.

B/c u can’t conflate college w NFL.

X didn’t have great measurable, nor avg. athleticism
Brown Jr had underwhelming stats & avg. testing #’s
George had on-field character ?’s, showed ?able hands in drills, & again avg. athleticism.

It’s like when I told this board when Rambo came out he’ll be lucky to be drafted despite the #’s he put up here. U have to differentiate college from pros, & understand what teams r looking for & at.
