AP Top 25 (Pitt ranked 24)

If you want to about a team that's ranked in front of us about Utah. They beat USC and BYU, and that's the only two teams at .500 or better that they beat. And they lost to really bad Oregon and Cal teams. They should get a vote in any poll, but they are in the top 25 in the coaches, and in front of us in AP voting. What a croc.

Thanks CoRch Richt.

You might as well pick another team to follow. He's going to be our coach for a long time.

Been a fan for 30+ years and Richt won't be here a long time if he keeps underachieving.
only idiot fans who think th is team has national title type talent think this team underachieved if anything they overachieved losing close games to fsu and unc prior to injuries catching up to them and losing the nd and vt games only to bounce back with 4 straight wins.

ill admit I was hoping for 10 wins but coming in I thought this was an 8-4 or 9-3 team , I thought if things went there way could beat fsu and get to 10-2 but things didn't got there way. **** guys like stewert mandel and others had Miami winning 4 or fewer games. this team has some serious depth issues. we don't have the talent or depth that fsu and unc have, even vt had more depth then us. the truth is people don't give any credit to fact this team is operating at 80 scholorships , that and golden specials mean Miami has some serious depth issues.

depth is what gets your through a tough October like Miami had. no one outside of fans with delusional expectations expected more then 8-4 or 9-3 no one.

The FSU loss obviously could've gone the other way. Who knows what would've happened if the PAT is made?

The UNC loss was completely on the officiating. The bobble in the back of the end zone was reviewed and still not overturned. That was as bad a call as it gets. That game gets played differently in the 2nd half, in the rain, if that call is overturned.

VT absolutely destroyed us.

The Notre Dame loss should've never happened. There is no excuse for losing that game other than being completely unprepared.

This team, very easily, could be sitting at at 10-2 if they get a break, or two, along the way.

This may be true, but just about any team could be better if they catch a few more breaks. Golden's last 2 Miami teams had 4th quarters leads over FSU.

How about all of the dudes that have either transferred, been kicked off the team, or were just busts? The age old adage is that recruiting rankings don't mean **** if guys make the leap. Do you still think some of those bust 4 stars are elite talents? If not, then why are you relying on recruiting rankings from years ago when all you need to do is look and see what they did this year?

Our OL is full of JAGs and busts and no recruiting ranking will change that.

Yes, there was attrition. Welcome to football. There is always attrition. Simply because attrition exists doesn't mean the talent just dropped off. Somehow OSU (see article below) was able to have success despite being young and having attrition.

Yes, recruiting rankings matter. That doesn't mean simply by having a lot of highly ranked guys you will win. It does mean that these are highly recruited kids that numerous programs matter. I don't know anyone, besides YOU, that would trade the talent on VT for Miami.

As for this garbage OL...Our OL are the same 5 starters as last year.

2016 Miami:

Sacks Allowed: 62nd
Tackles For Loss Allowed: 46th

2015 Miami:

Sacks Allowed: 34th
Tackles For Loss Allowed: 8th

A lot of excuses in this poRst.

I guess UNC and VT have more talent than Miami.

The CoaRstal is trash and Miami should win it every year no matter the coRch/coach.

We gotta win games that mean something. Wins over Pedo State and Clemson **** on our biggest wins in Pitt and GT.

In the twisted world of college football, it means more to beat Clemson and Ped State than it does to beat the team that beat them.

Same record, and we beat the brakes off them head to head. There's no justification in the real world for them to be ahead of us.

Some of your rhetorical questions are hilarious. Here is a fun article (The NFL draft proves that recruiting rankings matter. | Sports on Earth).

I just want it on the record, do you think VT had more talent than us? Is that why Fuente won the coastal this year?

Golden's teams underachieved every season. The talent was there...just like this season.

I think that the play calling at different points this season was very suspect. Couple that with Kaaya being beat up after the FSU game and it was a disastrous combo. I remember reading on here that the entire playbook was not being opened up so FSU wouldn't see everything...then the same thing before the UNC game. The play calling was just stale.

The Notre Dame loss was just pathetic.

The thing that tells me the bottom of the poll is pure garbage is.......temple gets more votes than us & if that's not bad enough troy gets more votes. ******* troy!? Their are more voters who think temple or troy would beat us on the field?.....just absurd!

Pretty much exactly this.

And I am still trying to figure out how Ped St is fooling everyone right now...they are a complete and utter fraud, and even PSU fans will tell you so.

What did you expect with the roster we had this year? Have you seen the bums we've trotted out as an O-Line? I seriously don't understand how anyone could be so delusional that they think this team was supposed to magically win the coastal with the amount of weak talent we have on the roster.

Fuente did it in year one with inferior talent.

Maybe one day will pass when you don't gag on Fuente's cak, but I doubt it.

I see I have a fan. Do you follow my posts? Do you read them closely? I am happy to have a fan.

He's a douche to everyone that doesn't tow the party line.

It's his running gag. Literally

Once again, they have a giant win in Ohio State and they didnt lose multiple games they were supposed to win. We win ND and one more and we are in the exact same spot. In the top 10 and heading into the conference championship game.... You win games in P5 conference regardless if you are lucky, you will get respect.

Who cares? We are better than Pitt and better than our record indicates.

We could very easily be 9-3 or 10-2.

Not sure where that'd get us in the rankings but we'd be ranked.

fuente's team has had stability with beamer for 20 years. we have been riddled with radio clappy gorlden and nevingate. hmmm i wonder why year one was different for richt. depth carries you through oct. & we have none. we may have a few stars more then they do, but we have have just as many joe's that have been taught by the previous bums listed. they made our 4* essentially a 2* in some cases.

Life long Miami Hurricane fans The Top 25 means nothing unless they are on the bubble for a CFP spot. I could care less what they are ranked otherwise. Who remembers even a top 2 finish in 86, 88, 2000 and 2002? Nobody.

It doesn't mean anything. Just win the bowl game and head into offseason on positive note. How long since that happened? Let's hope Rick gets us in top 10 next year and Top 5 in 18.

I didn't know Randy Shannon and Clappy had an impact on the 2016 football team. Wow, that might be the ***ing dumbest point ever. I also didn't know Nevingate was still impacting us in 2016, man that cloud will never go away. Congrats on being a top 5 potato on this site.

I also don't know if you have been following VT over the last few years. They haven't done anything of relevance in some time, like us.

In the 3 years prior to Fuente (2013-15), VT went 22-17 (12-12).

In the 3 years prior to Richt (2013-15), Miami went 23-16 (13-11).

So all this stability led to less wins, both in conference and out of it), at VT.

During that same time, VT has put the following players in the NFL (2013-2016):

Kyle Fuller,
Logan Thomas,
Antone Exum,
Kyshoen Jarrett,
Laurence Gibson,
Kendall Fuller, and
Dadi Nicolas

On our 2013 team alone, Miami has put the following players in the league:

The following guys were on the 2013 Miami Hurricanes (only NFL players included):

QB: Stephen Morris
RB: Duke Johnson
WR: Allen Hurns
WR: Phillip Dorsett
TE: Clive Walford
TE: Asante Cleveland
OL: Brandon Linder
OL: Seantrell Henderson
OL: Jon Feliciano
OL: Ereck Flowers

DB: Ladarius Gunter
DB: Tracy Howard
DB: Deon Bush
DB: Artie Burns
LB: Denzel Perryman
LB: Thurston Armbrister
DL: Anthony Chickillo
DL: Olsen Pierre

P: Pat O'Donnell
KR/PR: Duke Johnson

Notables on Practice Squad/Backups:

Herb Waters (Packers)
Ufomba Kamalu (Texans)

-----------------

That list doesn't include players like Stacey Coley and Corn Elder who were on the 2013 team and will be in the NFL.

-----------------

So it isn't stability, the cloud or talent. It might be something else though.
