Think he’s pretty fast, but maybe not. Could be faster, though maybe fast enough. Good hands, route runner, tough . . . not sure on speed, but may be fast. Not sure.Speed/40 times? We know he was Mensah’s favorite target at Duke but is he like Restrepo- good route runner not so much a speedster?
racist mfA real grinder, lunch-pail, heady, sneaky-fast type of guy, reminds me of Wes Welker...
In all honesty Barkate is plenty fast
This! There is a big difference between track times and functional speed on the field.Remember Jerry Rice? He was a 4.71 forty guy ... that worked his *** off, ran perfect routes, excelled at contested catches, and LEARNED how to get separation. Barkate is similar in that regard ... he runs "smart" and knows how to use his skills. Pure speed? He has been clocked between 4.56 - 4.67 from all that I have seen in a casual search. BUT he runs "smart" and works his *** off, with the result that he was one of the THE top WR's in the country in 2025 and was wanted by many when he entered the portal (including ND). Lucky to have the man.

Jacobs and Vaughn are the speed guys.
Any verified speed times?
Lunch pail, hard working kinda guyIdk...but hes a high motor guy.
High point catch is impressive. Acceleration to outrun the safety can't be taught! (top right video)
Posted youtube video bc twitter link won't show the play I'm speaking on.
Yes the USCe kid is.One of the knocks on our wr position last year is that we didnt have a true WR1 with speed. Wondering if Barkate or any of the wr we picked up in the portal are speed guys
and hands catch w/o breaking stride.I was told 4.55 - 4.6 range. I wish people knew how fast that looked when you run great routes. People have no clue.
He's a different type of Wr than restrepo, more of a threat vertically from what I see, taller, and more lanky than XSpeed/40 times? We know he was Mensah’s favorite target at Duke but is he like Restrepo- good route runner not so much a speedster?
