Anthony Schwartz

I don't think he will end up at Miami. The WR class is loaded and he doesn't seem to be at the top of the options.

Lol at folks talking about speed is overrated for a kid that runs a 10.2/10.3 as a 10th grader. I'll take that speed any day of the week. And let's be honest - the kid while not an elite 5 star kid is a nice player. As long as he puts in the work, I'm all in. There are tons of ways to use that speed - specific plays on offense, special teams, coverage unit safety valve, etc.

Schwartz, like Dorsett, has the kind of speed that scares the **** out of DCs and makes them alter their plans.

Folks acting like Dorsett wasn't a first round draft pick.

I would love to find room for this kid somewhere but we are bringing in a lot of big time player at WR.

I think it's possible Mr. Schwartz never plays a down of football in college.

This. If the kid didn't have track aspirations he's a take. Too many WR's lining up to play for us who are just as talented and focused on football. (not speed wise obviously)

Correct me if Im wrong here aren't his combined stats for the last 2 years, 8 rec 135 yds and 2 TDS? If so he is nothing like Dorsett.

This kid could defiantly help Miami's offense immediately with his speed. DC will have to pay attention and with richt running these wr screens and what not it's not like he has to spend a lot of time learning how to read defenses right off top. Add him with Thomas and some other fast guys would I assume will occupy Miami's roster this guy could be a dangerous addition to Miami. This kids presence on the field will effect a defense regardless if he get's the ball or not.

It's not like the kid can't run track and play football even if he becomes a world class sprinter. Other guys have done it. He doesn't have to pick one or the other.

Problem is that a lot of the truly elite guys have quit football in college to focus on track (Devon Allen and Xavier Carter are 2 that come to mind). That's a risk you take with a kid like Schwartz.

Given the other options we seem to have, I don't see how you take Schwartz with that risk out there. FSU is offering him on a track scholarship, that should be our angle too

In any other year, I would agree, but the class is too loaded for a guy that looks to be nothing more than a specialist right now. If he blows up his senior year and shows he can be a serviceable WR at the P5 level, then he moves up the board, but he has shown nothing that warrants any optimism there.

It can go either way. Pat Johnson, Michael bates, Darrel green, Bob Hayes, Then little sprinter from UF all chose football. It's just something you'd have to sit down and talk about with the kid as a coach. There have been track guys who quit track or choose football over track so it can go either way. You just recruit another guy.

Miami's track program isdn a joke basically so they can't taker that angle which is a joke in itself giving the talent in the state. I understand title 9 and all that BS but *** that, you build up the track team and it will help the football team especially with players like this.

A lot of those guys can flop for all you know.

and there is a very high chance Schwartz never does anything in college with that line of thinking but you are still clamoring for him. Look while his speed is elite, he hasn't even been able to fully realize it at the HS level yet. This isn't Dorsett or Travis Benjamin who all made plays in HS, at least not yet.

Lol at the idiots here knocking this kid because he's run more track than played football. His film shows FOOTBALL ability to go along with ludicrous speed.

He should be in this class.

Either way you're taking a chance. And stats are whatever. I'd have to watch a game ...Guys have put up big stats in HS and didn't do chit at the next level.

Take it from me, AH wasn't exactly flinging it around the yard. Their offense did a horrible job through the air for whatever reason (Cough, Cough Playcalling!!!). In a more creative offense, I'm more than sure that the kid would do numbers...

I think he put up Berrios numbers, bruh. Like 1 catch per game. lol.

Keep your track team on the track. I want FOOTBALL PLAYERS. There's a reason teams don't just import their track stars to fill up their WR depth charts.

A lot of football players run track and the scenario you gave is dumb as funk.
