Amateur S&C Coaches Needed ….

Performative nonsense.

What weights are they using for things like rotator cuff therapy, …. 2 plates each side on a Smith machine?? Or a whole host of other exercises that are for explosive strength and muscular stamina that use less than 40 pounds but are important for athletic performance?

I swear, the lengths people will go to justify their value in light of their ignorance and incompetence is staggering

So no lateral raises? Or am I the only one who can't do more than 15 pounds?

Crushed my **** between 2 30’s back in college just trying to finish my set and struggling on the last few reps.

Will never use more than 15 again.

If they are an Olympic S&C shop, no need to have the dumbbells. If they are HIT, they could also avoid dumbbells. Not every S&C approach requires dumbbells. If I were the coach, I’d go the other way. Nothing over 100lbs as dumbbells. Too easy to tear a peck like Allen Bailey.

Exactly
I was a former pitcher and have had 3 rotator cuff surgeries
And I don’t use more than 15 pounds on those specific exercises!!!

I had shoulder surgery back in 2019. I was pretty strong back then, but had neglected a lot of that rotator cuff work because as a busy professional, my gym sessions were built on lifting as much as I could in as little a time as possible. So I ignored the stuff that involved me using light weight.

I still remember the day I realized something was wrong. I had done push-ups with a 40 pound weighted vest during my morning gym session. I showered, went to work, and around lunch time, it felt like my arm was going to fall off. Doc said I had about 85% of my rotator cuff torn. Turns out my body acclimated for a slowly deteriorating rotator cuff by accessory muscles carrying the load instead of my rotator cuff.

So yeah, these days, I do my lateral raises and Ys and all the other stuff I thought was stupid for many years.

I guess nobody is doing any rehab work in this gym? What a bunch of performative nonsense. It's always the teams that don't win jack that resort to this snake oil phony alpha bs.
