Alonzo will not be joining the Miami Administration

Did anyone listen to the Blake James interview? The Chief of Staff would report to Manny. This position would have overseen staffers that are not coaches. The title Chief of Staff is a hype title. The role is basically a Sr. Director position that all the directions would report to. Do you really think that Blake James is going to ask the board to hire a position to do his job?

nah it was reported that manny agreed to take 3 or so a year bc of the buyout (thats how it was framed). thats about starting for a p5 coach even tho i agree manny doesnt deserve more than 2.

I know what was reported, and I know how chit was framed.

Speaking of how chit was framed, came across this article. They same Karma is a bytch.....well maybe we’re suffering b/c of how Diaz screwed Temple over.

I doubt any conversations between Highsmith and Blake went beyond the job description and authority, followed by Alonzo declining. There never was a ‘GM’ position overseeing the program with full authority (other than financial). Blake creating such a position only highlights his mistake of hiring Manny in the first place. He’s already fired the highest paid assistant the program has ever had. Now he wants to spend more money to create a new senior executive position to make decisions he failed at?

God **** this team, it’s really taken the joy out of football

Why couldn’t Richt just have hired a spread OC instead of his kid and then we’d be rollin by now

B/c his dream since UGA was coaching w his boy. He tried it at UGA and they said no. Blake practically begged bro to not retire and come to Miami. Still remember Blake pouring champagne on himself like he took his first chit on the potty. He gave Richt way too much control & Richt was going to ride off in to the sunset on his terms.

Imagine how irrelevant the university of miami would be if they didnt waltz into schnelly and Jimmy Johnson. These ******* morons have been successful despite their own selves from the tad Foote days, but this complete apathy of what put this university on the map has viciously come into full circle with these ******* loser BOT and flake jimmies

#welfarecheckU

The difference was Sam Jankovich. He hired Jimmy Johnson and Dennis Erickson.

This has been the case for a while, imo
I don’t disagree, but Richt knew way more than Blake James when it comes to running a CFB program. Richt spearheaded the IPF.

If Blake James can do it with Richt, why can’t he bring in another or more competent football people

Amazes me that the coaches we’ve had for the last 20 years have basically ended their careers trying to prove their way was the right way rather than seeking help and making changes. Coker, Shannon, Golden, Richt. None have done anything of significance, or even been given the opportunity to do so, after leaving Miami. Manny going down the same way is pretty impressive TBH, if you think of it that way. Your entire career (and family’s lifestyle) is on the line, and you’re just like “I got this, don’t worry”. After watching everyone before you do the same thing and never recover.

If Manny is really calling the shots like that then that just means that incredibly Miami has reached another level of disaster decision making. We're letting a 6-7 first time head coach sign off on whether or not someone can come in that he would have to answer to? The employee decides the fate of his boss?

This is truly bizarro world.
