You do know there are other sports in an athletic department right?Highsmith knows football inside and out from a variety of levels..... find a sharp assistant AD to help with details and it can work
JZ do you really want Blake James making any more period.... what we're doing is not working that's for sure 15+ years
The answer is they aren'tsuch as?
I don't know enough to give a worthwhile opinion. I don't know all the functions of an AD's role.Is it fair for me to say its weird that some of our fans dont like the idea of a future nfl gm as our athletic director?
sure but football drives the revenue train......and we have been living on past glories for 15 +yearsYou do know there are other sports in an athletic department right?
Coyle is gonna hold out for a top money maker job.We already missed on Danny White(Who was my #1 choice for 5 years running)
John Currie(Wake Forest)--Wake is a tough gig, and he's made some good hires with Dave Clawson being the best. Has experience dealing with private school issues. Was successful at KSU, which again isn't an easy job.
John Hartwell(Utah State) Dude has made solid hires in multiple sports at Troy(Previous stop),
Mark Coyle(Minnesota)--Multiple solid hires, was at Boise State before Minny.
Now, if the boosters really wanted to go ham, my choice would be:
Mack Rhaodes(Baylor)--Has midmajor experience, has made multiple good hires at Baylor. Good fundraiser, has a bit of edge to him.
This is and has been my pick. This guy BUILT UCF into the brand it is :: insert snide remarks ::Danny White just went to UT
Football GM / football only type AD — 1000%.Gotta start with replacing the AD. Is Highsmith the answer to the clown show that is our entire athletic department?
How about throwing big money at him before our next fb coach?
Go Canes!
Football GM / football only type AD — 1000%.
But but but he was an executive in the NFL and he is friends with lots of college coaches. And and and he is a Miami guy! What could go wrong? So you want to replace someone who had never been an AD of a major D-1 program with someone who's never been an AD before? Brilliant!
What makes him qualified for that?I would bring him in to just run the football side of things. We are on life support right now.
He would have been a decent hire but unclear if he'd leave Tennessee after such a short stint. This is and has been my pick. This guy BUILT UCF into the brand it is :: insert snide remarks ::
But this guy cared about the school, made huge HC hires and actively promoted the brand. He has smarts and could make something out of nothing. Imagine what he'll do at Tennessee or even here after what he did at UCF
Yep, but half this board doesn't want to hear that.Atrocious, illogical and unnecessary. Nobody, nobody, not even our dumbest fans would suggest Zo for a move like this if he never went here. What other program that has had tremendous success has a "football GM" running football and football only?
Good luck finding a real AD that will tolerate this bullchit.
