All options open for Miami 2017 defensive tackle target

The reason I don't think we need him is because there will be other DTs that we'll recruit much harder next cycle. We'll be perfectly fine in 2017 along the DL.
Rok, the problem is those guys will then have to play as True Frosh. That's a really, really tough task for any DT.

Absolutely.

The question I have is, why did it take so long for for us to make a 2nd DT a priority? We only took 1 last year and he's a project, 2 this year should have been a no brainer

This is rich. 1/2 of CIS says pass on the kid because he's not high enough on Miami. Other 1/2 will will then complain the staff didn't go hard enough. If he commits to Miami, both halves will claim he's not that good anyway and there was some other kid the staff should have gotten.

What are you talking about? Seems like you are creating problems out of thin air. One poster (rok, a known troll, of all people) said we don't need him. Plenty of people disagreed. Most posters just see the writing on the wall - we have a lot of ground to make up in a relatively short amount of time. I don't see any complaints about the staff not going hard enough. Everyone thinks the kid is talented.

I count 8 posts basically saying "meh, he doesn't seem to like us so I don't want him" (without rok). The post about how the staff didn't try hard enough come after we don't get the kid. I stand by what I wrote.

Nobody cares about the history. Thats the problem with this program and why recruiting is struggling. Ohio st, bama, clemson, fsu and etc is selling the right now. Miami keeps pitching what guys went to the nfl have done and players from the past. Recruits want the right now.

Like having the most freshman all Americans out of any school in the country? Should be any easy sell but... we are talking about weather.

I questioned this too but as of now we'll have Norton, McIntosh, Willis, Fines, Martin, Ford in 2018. One or more of them could obviously turn pro but a lot of times it behooves DL to stick around as we saw with Demarcus Walker, Carlos Watkins, Jonathan Allen, Caleb Brantley.

I don't get why people think the dt would leave early. They would have to have a monster season next year to do that. Are they talented? Yeah but they need more production to make them a top 3 round pick. Playing the 2015 year with goldens staff left them off the draft board of many scouts I can imagine. With diaz defense I'm sure scouts know who they are now.

I have been wondering that myself.

VERY stoked about our DE class, but with all of the alleged concerns with early departures next year at DT???

UM

I think they might've been surprised by the development of Norton and McIntosh. Going into the season, they probably weren't thinking of the possibility of two DTs leaving early (3 if you include Willis, who's barely played).

They really need to land another DT, and not a JAG.

Yawn.

If Kuligowski wants another DT, he'll find another DT who will produce - whether it's a name we know or not....

get his parent(s) to visit with him in january and we'll have as good of a shot as we can.... for a DT we have several key selling points now...

How do you want to learn the technique at DT yet you aren't hyped about possibly going to play for the best DL coach who's had a 1st round/pro bowl lineman every year including Charles Harris who will be a 1st rounder also? Seriously idk if I've seen a recruiting year like this where kids have schools and coaches who are some of the best to develop at their position in their top schools yet shuns them smh some of these kids man
