Al Golden as a man

Complains about people using Jojo's death for Golden. But then three pages earlier said this?

Wish he cried like that when our Defense passed away.

What's worse? Using a passing away joke for your agenda (which can only happen if you know, the kid passed away) or actually telling a story of an encounter with Golden that shows the non-football side of him?

Laff at the high horse, and even worse at the hypocrisy.
Some people will make a pact with the devil to win a football game. You could tell who those people are.

It comes from deep seated insecurities and feelings of inadequacy. College football wins won't add inches to your ****. 18-22 years old get some degree of a pass because
they are young, wild and stupid. But if you are older than that and your happiness rests on the shoulders of kids then you need to spend a weekend with Tony Robbins or that Deepak dude. I get the feeling that Al Golden truly cares for his players on the field and off. I get the feeling that he would be upset if he knew that 34 of his players had the same major. 99% of football coaches would run out on the field and embrace one of their injured players while having a dislocated ankle reduced? I don't think so. I want wins just as much as the next guy but I won't turn in my integrity card and join the ranks of the TPD, wife beaters of the SEC, and the " Hire Petrino Now" crowd.
No fackin way!

Look, football is a game. A game we all care deeply about, but just a game.

If you wanna complain about Golden's coaching or the defense, that's fine. But this thread is NOT the place to do it. This is about Golden the man.

A 24 year old kid is laying dead in a morgue right now. Twenty four years old. Think about that. Had his whole life ahead of him. Just had a newborn. A newborn who will grow up fatherless. There are bigger things than football.

Show JoJo some respect and leave any of that other stuff out of this thread.

I think some people have taken what I said and went a few different directions with it and that is perfectly fine because you are allowed to.All I wanted to point out was what i saw and listened to the other night and then thought back to another time I saw this coach show support for a injured player as well as the conversations with this coach in the past. For many of you it's about Ws and that's all, but for me it's a little different and I just wanted to share what I was thinking at the time.

Not too many people wonder what kind of man we have as our head coach because often it doesn't always translate to wins or bowl appearances but for some of our recruits and especially their parents knowing what type of man our head coach is means a lot. I for one am not the type to have my children around just anybody and especially a position of a head coach which can be a very influential position in a young mans life but I can say that Golden is a man that I want as an influence for my son. We need more people like this to influence and lead our young men. The winning and everything on the field will take care of itself when the talent starts rolling in.

This thread actually does a good job of highlighting why so many of you are unable to objectively evaluate Golden's on-field performance.

I evaluate his on field performance in any other thread but this one. This thread is about Al as a Man, and Jojo.

Wrong. The title reads Al Golden as a man.. If you don't want to discuss that, go post in one of the other hundred threads calling for his head. This has nothing to do with football. Stop being so obtuse.

No, it actually does a good job of distinguishing the well-balanced, sane people from the nut cases.

Some of you need to learn how to use the "ignore porster" feature. It makes this board readable.
