(Those happy few on this board who served in the USMC will know what I'm talking about) And generals and coaches don't get M-O-R-A-L-E by telling the troops they s-u-c-k. The guy who started this post, and the mob that joined in, don't know ***** from Shinola when it comes to motivating troops. I think Al gets it. At least they believe in themselves, even if you don't. And you don't count on Saturdays. They do. That is all.

I served. Golden is still a fa99ot along with everyone who keeps making excuses for him.
 
Come one, we have to give the kids their win. Put coaches aside, the kids played best we have seen outside of nole game last year. They have no have much to celebrate about and they won this despite the coaching. Al, Mark and Coley did all they could to lose the game but the players foiled them, especially Corn. Granted Al's mouth kind of ruined the moment, but watching the kids celebrate was great.

Remember, we live in a different time frame from them. For us, anything not related to greatness sucks. For them, winning a game like this one is huge. For us, we have won 5 NC and crushed the giants of college football under our feet. They are stuck with horrific coaching have been bet by anyone with adult supervision - that makes winning this game a big thing for them.

By years end this win will look like the rest of Al's "signature wins". UF and Ohio St says hi

But it isn't like he played and was an assistant for terrible teams. He just head coaches that way. Its like he never learned and got promoted to incompetence.

Splitting hairs but I see your point. I was a Golden supporter but it has become crystal clear he is not the man for the job. Just because you put in 20 hour days does not guarantee success

Al gets how to motivate troops, and yet he allowed our guys to get sloppy, complacent, and unfocused enough to give up a 23 point lead in 8 minutes? Mmmk.

I get what you're saying, but what happens when the lack of perspective (Ed Reed had it, Al hasn't taught it to these kids yet) catches up to these kids at the Doak? Or against Clemson?

There's a downside to celebrating a victory over cupcakes like FAU and bad teams like Nebraska. You lose perspective about what it takes to beat the good teams like FSU and Ohio State.
 
Don't you know that losing to Al Golden almost guarantees you will end up with a losing record.......

Check the numbers.
