ACC refs calling this Super Bowl

Maybe the Buccs deserved more penalties but the Chiefs definitely earned all of theirs last night.

Well, most yards for one team in a superbowl penalty wise was 130 or so for the game I believe and the Chiefs had 90 yards in 1 quarter.

Your logic...Halftime would have happened around midnight.

Love the salt today.... Bucs defense was awesome and Brady outwitted Spags. 31-9 ... if you are crying BuT ThE ReFs! then tou deserve the misery. Chiefs got manhandled in all facets of the game.
They sure did in the second half. Missing lineman really took its toll.

Brady just looked like another coach with skills. That defense is incredible especially White. During game led me to say OL if you stay at 3 (Wirfs is a mountain) or trade down for more picks and grab Parsons if he is the same or better than White.

Brady, Gronk, and Fournette were some missing pieces I guess! Hopefully Fournette has recovered from being released by Jags lol.

I think he went after Brady b/c he felt that score was b.s. That same drive was the P.I call against him that set up the TD.
I could see him getting in the receivers face and telling him he didn't deserve it or whatever.. it's just a weird pick on who to go after in that situation. I'd love to hear what they said to each other tho, badger apparently tweeted an insinuation that tomboy said some really rude **** to him.

Sharpe just said the exact opposite of this. Lol. He said he was told when he played in his first SB, the refs are going to let u get mugged a bit. They r going to let them play. Lol. We normally agree, but I vehemently disagree w/ u on this one. U don’t call tight games in the SB; especially not this one sided. Give u another example; Matthieu talks trash to Tom, Tom goes and chase after Matthieu. Matthieu gets called for unsportsmanlike, yet Tom didn’t. Compare: Winfield Jr taunts Hill, Hill responds & instead of extending KC’s drive, they call off setting “unsportsmanlike” penalties.

C’mon bruh. It was clearly one sided this game. Jones gets pushed by TB’s OLmen, he pushes back, and the refs hit him w/ a personal foul unsportsmanlike penalty. Lol. It was way too obvious how ?able those calls were.
You're taking a comment out of context. My point was regarding the unsportsmanlike conduct call, not the on-field calls. And that one went how you should expect it to go. Matthieu shoulda known better and the NFL does tell guys to mind their behavior during the SB. The NFL is less tolerant today than in the past. Because all of society is less tolerant today than in the past.

As far as the two examples you mention, you know better than to overthink two anecdotes. There's always a risk and tension in football between instigator and counter-puncher. Sometimes the refs don't see the first punch and the other guy gets the penalty. When they do see who instigated they penalize them ... but the guy who punches back usually still gets hit because that's the rules. Brandy didn't taunt Matthieu back - so I don't see how he can get a penalty there. He may have been ****ed but he didn't do something that gets the flag. IMO.

As for the one-sided thing, what I saw was absolutely one-sided, in the sense that TB's defense *** raped KC's O, and Brady did his usual professional job against KC's D. Even bothering to discuss the refs seems weird considering how bad the beat-down was. Everyone loves KC because Mahomes, and he's a great player, but he got beat and they did and folks should just move on. This wasn't some Terry Porter decided the game situation. This was an *** kicking.

he talks **** to everyone in earshot and can't take it when he gets picked on in coverage.

Watched the chiefs all year they got away with a lot this game these refs weren’t letting them do their same **** and it showed
THIS. Chiefs hold constantly. Can't win a game with 120 yds in penalties or whatever it was. Also no one talking about this but TB has a lot more depth than the Chiefs.

Tampa Bay dominated at the line of scrimmage once the teams got warmed up with a few drives. Most pressures on the QB in SB history, 29, and only blitzed 5 times. The Bucs played disciplined defense on the back end. Great plan, great performance.

Stop blaming the refs. KC has been an oft-penalized team all season, they just had Mahomes to bail them out.

Until last night.

This is an interesting thread. Seen a lot of people blaming the refs, which they have every right to be raked across the coals as they were pretty bad throughout the game and a lot of the time it was on key downs to keep the bucs on the field when KC got a stop or even a turnover. Also, KC got totally manhandled and outcoached throughout the game. They had no answers for the Bucs front 4. The better team won the game last night.

Both of the things can be true, the refs stunk and became too much of a focal point and the Bucs D put in an absolutely outstanding performance, particularly Devin White and Shaq Barrett making the Chiefs look like little kids.

****, I didn't see all that. I was deeep in the tequila last night and missed more of the game than I thought.

Replay showed only one of the penalties was questionable. Turnovers KC 2, TB 0. Hard to win a game when you give the other team the ball. A very good example of how you play the "Bend, Don't Break" defense. KC was able to move the ball between the 20s, but not so much in the Red Zone.
