I was pulling for FSU for a couple of reasons.
Having FSU ranked in my opinion helps us in the polls especially when we beat them. Gives the perception of a stronger conference, which like it or not is beneficial in the poll rankings. It's all about eye candy.
Another reason ? I particularly enjoy watching LSU and now Brian Kelly loose.
Should LSU had won, that just piles on the "SEC is the undisputed king of CFB"

My feelings about FSU are different from Florida. With FSU we get to settle it on the field, so I don't mind rooting for them against the SEC. Florida? Never. Does it matter that the ACC does well? As long as we're in it, yes it does. If you don't understand that the SEC is the worst thing that has ever happened to college football you haven't been paying attention. Not to mention that that southern culture good-ole-boy element hates everything that Miami is and has been. When someone treats you as an enemy you have to acknowledge them as one. I also don't just blindly adhere to the "rivalry" hate for its own sake. Always seemed like reasonless shìt that other people mindlessly accepted. My hate for other teams mostly just follows the fan interaction I've seen over the years, which is why I've never understood the lack of hate here for Alabama, who have to be the absolute worst Miami-hating trash on the planet outside of Gainesville. People on this site will sit around laughing with joy at ACC teams losing out of conference like it's a good thing while constantly showing some weird form of respect for Saban and his cheat machine. To me that's just disgusting.
 
I want Florida, FSU, FIU, Univ of Tampa, St Thomas University, Nova Southeastern to lose every game.

Dudes on this board getting weirder and weirder..i dont give a f*ck about conference pride...its why i try to avoid those threads like the plague..speaking on is the acc is done, blah blahh, blah.,..The U is its own brand we could make a MNC from the ****** SUNBELT.

Just like i stated a few years ago that conference sec schilling has spread...and was done so through media...ESPN. Got some of yall believeing the sh*t as well.

I wanted FSU to lose in the worst way. UF is insignificant to me so i barely would watch a game of theres but i wanted utah to beat them as well.

The best Canes games of all-time include many of our match ups with FSU. It used to be the biggest game of the year with the winner having the inside track to the national championship. It was the biggest game of our season.

I want to see both teams get back to that. I don't care if FSU loses, but I'd prefer they win. In particular against a Kelly led LSU team.

Our games against FSU since we've both been down have been a shadow of the past games. When we've both sucked, it isn't anywhere near as fun talking **** to my FSU friends about a win. On the flip side, when they had Jameis and company, that really sucked since we still sucked.

So I would prefer to see them ascend as we do. I would also like to see the ACC do the same as a conference. The more big games we play in, the better. I love ACC basketball and part of that is all the rivalries and the fact it's the premiere basketball conference in the land. I don't foresee that happening with football, but the closer we get the better.

UF, I don't care either way as it doesn't affect us on the schedule.

Couldn’t agree more with this

I definitely hate UF more than FSU but I usually root for UF in the game because really, they don’t effect us as much as FSU with recruiting and the grand scheme of things (splitting hairs here and there I know)

I understand not wanting to be a doormat conference but with Clemson not going anywhere WE are the team that can change the narrative. We don’t need someone else doing it, and certainly not FSU

I’m all for rooting for Wake, Pitt, NC St etc in bowl games and those types of matchups…but not FSU. Makes no sense to me
 
as long as we beat fsu and UF when we play them, I don't care what they do. Didn't watch either game and never will

I've lived up here in North Florida my whole life: UF-FSU is a bigger rivalry for them than either school playing UM.

BUT, Noles and Gators both HATE the Canes — particularly when we're winning — more than they do one another.

It's a cultural thing with Miami/international city/Canes swagger as opposed to UF and FSU being geographical neighbors and sister schools in the state of Florida.

Its been canes fans pining for fsu to be good the last 3 years on this board. I mean when we were down them f*cks were clowning us through n through..and there hate is even different..they legitimately think of canes as thugs and "beneath them" along with UF so i dont know HOW in the world cane fans are on some its better for college football bs. Stop watching ****** College Gameday.

*P.S i wish for VA TECH to lose every game they play as well. Because honestly they ARE are biggest rivals after FSU...i watch their games in hopes of them losing.

I grew up in West Palm Beach. It is one of the rare cities in the state where there are significant contingents of all three bases. The proximity and immediacy of the situation, and having grown up in the 90s, does not allow me anything but disdain for them. This disdain has waxed, not waned, with time.
