A young player that is getting better…

I think Justin Scott might have something to say about that.

Scott is a DT

Exactly. My initial list was DEs only. DTs is much much worse off. For 2 spots, we have only 3 legit players and a walking wounded who "could" be special at some point. Add to this that Russell and Newton were both bubble takes, and Jones was considered a project, and DT screams portal to me.

Defensive EndsDefensive Tackles
(3) Starting Rotation: Bain, Mesidor, Bryant (on passing downs)
(3) Emerging: Blount, Lowe, Lightfoot
(4) Developing: Rudolph, Pickett, McConathy, Scroggins
(2) Starting Rotation: Blay, Moten
(1+1) Emerging: Scott + Horton but he is always injured
(3) Developing: Jones, Simpson, Newton, Russell

Why you keep trying to sneak Bryant in lol. By all accounts it seems Blount is the 3rd DE. Blay and Scott are going to start at DT

Not contesting that I've seen that mentioned a couple times on here. But you and I both know how Mario and every coach uses camps to motivate people. Until I see that continue into summer camp, I'm going to stick with the default. If @Brooklyndee or one of the other insiders want to correct me, I'll humbly make the edit now, of course.

Don’t think it’s motivation. I haven’t seen anything from Bryant. He had a opportunity when Alston got hurt last year and he was no where to be found

What am I supposed to correct?

Who currently leads for first off bench at DE, especially for passing downs -- Blount or Bryant?
This current moment would be Blount cause we use the spring to develop and integrate the system. But in season that's more situational than anything else. Definitely all opportunities will be gave to Blount. But where it goes from there is dependant on his development.

Jones was never a project in the true sense of the word in this context. Not even close. I agree with the rest however.

Appreciated! @252cane I stand corrected.

tbh everyone had an opportunity and missed out on it, let's be real...

Bryant is not the speedy edge that beats tackles with bend. He'll need to improve on his bull rush as his base move and then work with that.

The talent is obvious, it comes down to him being capable of playing well in the run game by setting edges and providing good pass rush with no escape lanes.
