A step forward

After seeing what Clemson did to poor Georgia tech today I think maybe our performance against them wasn’t the worst
Tried to explain this to people who were trashing us last week. Like seriously, if you ain't bama or ohio st type of school, clemson is making you look like that. Anyone who watched the game saw we had opportunities. Defense actually did a solid job considering the opponent, but the offense couldn't do squat.

As sloppy as we played, I’m happy we won the way we did. Following up a huge game with a nooner usually leads to a loss. And tbh, before this year, this would have been a loss (and next week as well). Uva game will be very tough. We get past them, I’m liking our chances the rest of the way.

We need to stop saying we are back we aren’t and it’s not even close Are we GT ? No ,but we aren’t even in Clemsons galaxy.

In the last four games against non-Clemson opponents, Miami has scored:

31 points
47 points
52 points
31 points

Last year, Miami would've been 12-1 if they scored 31 points in every game. That's all you need to consistently beat ACC mediocrities with this defense. So far, we've gotten what we asked for.

Clemson showed us the next level. We've got a ways to go. But this was a good win for two reasons.

First, everyone expected a letdown noon stinker coming off a loss. The team came to compete, which is refreshing. Second, Pitt presents a tough style matchup: two NFL DEs, the #1 sack defense in the nation, and an aggressive scheme that takes away your run game and challenges your WRs. Every defense left on the schedule will be an easier touch.

There's a lot of work to do: the offense is dependent on explosive plays, our WRs scare nobody and our OL is still developing. King may need to come back after putting up bad tape against his two best opponents. But you don't go from Louisiana Tech to Clemson in one step. This is progress.
Great post, @DMoney

Just have to thank the good lord above that Pitt bit hard AF every time King put his head down to run.

Truly the difference in this game

A Transfer needs to come. Hopefully it’s someone like Tommy Devito from Cuse or Bo Nix if he’s benched. They both would be a better fit than King.
Why do yall keep bringing up BO NIX. He isnt that good, AND DUDE IS AN AUBURN LEGACY/FAN. Geesh he isnt going anywhere and is/was handed that starting job since he was in high school.

Tommy Devito isnt good either. We need a transfer if King doesnt come back but those guys wouldnt be on the list for me.

And winning against the ACC mediocrities regularly equates to big seasons like 9-3 and 10-2. We get to that and the talent gap between others and us widens to an irrecoverable level in the Coastal. Need to be 6-1 going into Va Tech. If that’s the case, it’ll be very interesting to see what traction with have with big timers like Mason Smith, maybe a new QB prospect, etc.

Not to mention 2022 kids

King is who he is, coming back wont change that.. His best bet at NFL is slot.. No film next year is gonna change that outlook
Then come back and live out your dream playing QB one more year, hopefully you and the guys around you get better with more time in the system. Then go play slot next year. Changing positions he's a later round pick anyway.
