In the last four games against non-Clemson opponents, Miami has scored:

31 points
47 points
52 points
31 points

Last year, Miami would've been 12-1 if they scored 31 points in every game. That's all you need to consistently beat ACC mediocrities with this defense. So far, we've gotten what we asked for.

Clemson showed us the next level. We've got a ways to go. But this was a good win for two reasons.

First, everyone expected a letdown noon stinker coming off a loss. The team came to compete, which is refreshing. Second, Pitt presents a tough style matchup: two NFL DEs, the #1 sack defense in the nation, and an aggressive scheme that takes away your run game and challenges your WRs. Every defense left on the schedule will be an easier touch.

There's a lot of work to do: the offense is dependent on explosive plays, our WRs scare nobody and our OL is still developing. King may need to come back after putting up bad tape against his two best opponents. But you don't go from Louisiana Tech to Clemson in one step. This is progress.

You saying exactly what I’ve been saying. 30+ a game with this defense in the ACC is plenty.

Some are saying “but the defense gave them short fields!”

IDGAF you still gotta punch that *****h in the end zone. The d has given the offense opportunities in years past........the O didn’t punch nothin in and we lost a bunch of games.

I’m cool for now. Just keep it up and we should cruise to 10-1.

Ill take it... pitt is always a slugfest

If Clemson isn’t the best team in the country they are no worse than top 3, either. As long as Lashlee has us beating the average teams that we should beat then that’s what counts to get improvement. The next bigger steps to score on the top defenses etc, is another story, but improvement is what we need right now.

King is who he is, coming back wont change that.. His best bet at NFL is slot.. No film next year is gonna change that outlook
Playing college football for another year and living the life of a campus king sounds better than starting work if that’s the case. I don’t think King plays much in the pros so have fun playing in college. Work life will be there when your done.

You’re right @DMoney ... not a clean game but a solid win, with a defense that held up and enough offense, which granted wasn’t hitting on all cylinders, to control the game. This was a guaranteed loss in 2018 and 2019.

More work to do, but they brush themselves off, and get ready for Virginia. Going forward, with Mallory coming into his own and hopefully Brevin back in the fold, the offense will make incrementally improved steps.

We are where we need to be, currently we are the best of the rest in the ACC. That’s better than prior years. I expect to see continued improvement. We did what we needed to do and now it’s on to the next game

Look at whats happened to other ranked teams today. Take nothing for granted. We found a way to win, a lot of other ranked programs didn't.

And a first round safety as well. They have legit players on D. There’s definitely progress and some things to work through.

BTW - Its clear to me that Smith is a weapon. He does scare defenses and that is helping other WRs get open.
