The ACC ain't better*
Clemson alone disagrees…
Mario lost to MTSU. Fraud until proven otherwise.

I agree with that.... It's the Coaches job to keep his team focused and yesterday Mario failed at that... That was very obvious..get your dogs, and you'll still have a coach that should have pulled TVD by the second series of the game. Instead he let it get way out of hand, and let guys get demoralized in doing so.
Talking strictly culture and not X’s and O’s! From a culture standpoint, it’s hard to change culture quickly. Unless you’re in a position where you can fire everyone. It is the job of the CEO to change the culture or rid the program of the problems. This resides on Mario, not the players. Stop blaming the players. We have had used car sales men in the CEO spot for too long, and a severe lack of player development. We have had underdrafted players as a result and now it is tough to get the top talent to believe in the program not due to the product on the field, but those preparing them to win and for the next level. 20 years of failure coming through our BoD and AD. As much as I love UM it would be tough to send a kid there knowing they were an NFL prospect. Mario needs to make some changes soon or he is just the next sales manager at Al Golden Motors.
The ESPN article regarding TVD about 2 weeks ago prior to the TAMU game raised questions.
He doesn't really speak the team and he pretty much only talks to X and Mallory and only hangs out with them.
There some obvious things that speak about that, first thing is, the dude doesn't fit in with the SFL culture, hes a white guy from the NE that is known to be snobby and all that and then he only hangs out with guys that are umm his style....
Beyond the fact that this game solidified the fact that he's a one read hitter (i.e., lots of RPO Gattis installed and he whipped them and they were completed) and when he has to read and actually be a QB he throws like Matt Leinhart, he just happen to have 1st round receivers too who can make up for it.
He wasnt a top 10 rated passer in his class for a reaosn, and now they're showing up.
I believe it was here I read it, but 80% of his passes last year were to his right side... 80 PERCENT!!!
Lashlee figured it out and made him look wayyyyy better then he is with a lot of misdirection and completely re-designing his offense to tailor TVD needs as a ****** QB. Just look at the stats, first two games juuunk then Lashlee did a lot of big time plays that were basically him forcing the hand and designing plays that would have a guy wide open and would work, (i.e., see wheel route from RBs in the backfield with trips to the opposite side, the TE ran that same route) take out those big plays and his Yard per Attempts yeesh.
This doesn't discount the defense is trash haha
Man, Miami is the weirdest team to follow, I think Mario has it right, as in he knows what he's doing and knows the problems , just this a fugging train wreck waiting to happen every game.
Fire everyone, this is his staff, he hired them. This comment though was in regard to someone mentioning the player being the issue. If you know you have an issue with players deal with it now, do not let if fester. If it festers he will lose the team, and it will have impacts reaching far beyond this season. If a player is dogging it on the field, has an attitude problem, is not a team player, bought in, bench them, even if the next man up is not fully ready. These are the pains, but they will payoff when you cut the cancer. The team needs to feel the shock because losing is a culture now, they feel nothing from it. We just get a soundbite and move on to being unprepared at the start of the next game.Talking strictly culture and not X’s and O’s! From a culture standpoint, it’s hard to change culture quickly. Cristobal will need to make staff changes but he also need to go heavy portal again!
As soon as this BoT and AD realizes there is more than a coaching stump we may branch out and truly search for the best man for the position. You cannot relive what is lost, we are no longer Jimmy's Miami Vice. We need a guy to come in and build his own brand, not the past.I'm tired of the "doesn't fit the SoFla culture" thing. Some of the best teams we've had included kids from all over the country. The school is in Coral Gables, not in downtime Miami. What "culture" are you trying to fit into? The social media culture that spends more time tagging themselves or posting than working after a tough loss? The culture that bolts at the first sign of adversity? The one that forms cliques and gossips like teen girls? Oh....and White QBs can't win in Miami? I should stop looking at our history then. The "culture" needs to be eat, sleep, ****, **** football. That's it. Kids can do that in hickville Bama, Columbus Ohio, Athens Georgia, etc but not in Miami....no. In Miami, you have to fit a certain stereotype to succeed. Work hard, hold each other accountable, develop and win. Period. I don't care if a kid is from small town Arkansas or center city Philly.
It's funny how kids go pro and where they come from no longer matters.
Based on normal attrition, by next year only a third at most of the roster will be players who ended the 2021 season as Canes. We already attrited 32 players this year. You’re completely correct. None of this is an excuse for losing to Midd Tenn St.
With that being said, is there only so much you can do to motivate guys that deep down don’t give af? Because that’s what I feel like I’ve been seeing under different regimes for a few years now. In the end it falls on Mario to get results…I mean ffs, we’re paying 12 mil for this staff?!? But god**** three fourths of these kids act like they don’t want to be there.
I expect 15+ bodies in the portal, and we’re going to need a crap ton of guys both there and in the recruiting class.
I mentioned many times about Rooster ME attitude of course I was snapped at here by many .Before I start, nothing I say should serve as an excuse or apology as to why we got absolutely whipped by a a G5 team yesterday; in fact, my title is journalism 101 - flashy, controversial title that hooks in the reader lol.
However, ignore the garbage coaching on both sides of the ball + the head man up top for a second. This is not the first time we’ve come out flat or allegedly unprepared. We saw it against Southern Miss already this season, we saw it countless times in 2021, and we’ve seen it god knows how many times the past 15-20 years. A lot of us realized that this wasn’t a quick fix; and while no one expected this garbage, the portal was supposed to be a band aid for a roster with a lot of holes.
Now with that being said, how many times have we heard about clique-y behavior on this roster in recent years? It was allegedly a huge Manny problem, and it was mentioned endlessly in a multitude of threads last night. You could see poor body languages on TV, guys bickering after the game (from people at the stadium), pointing of the fingers in interviews and postgame comments, etc. Motivation from a HC can only go so far…so is it possible these front-runners don’t give af?
I personally am starting to think this roster is rotten. It’s full of guys that think playing for the U is cool and it’s a clout thing that on paper they care for, but they don’t put in the work to be great. Now that Mario is demanding in practice and the expectations are so much higher, a large portion of them crumble up under pressure and lay down to die… ready to fire out excuses about being unprepared, or crowd size, etc. It’s soft really.
80% of these kids don’t have that dog in them as much as they talk about it or like to think they do. I do believe Mario is recruiting the right guys and it’ll slowly show, but when the insiders said there will be a major roster turnover after 2022…god****, I can count 20+ kids I hope seek playing opportunity elsewhere.
We need dogs that want to play for the U. I don’t care where they come from. Darrel Jackson was one guy in particular I saw jumping up and down firing dudes up after Garcia’s first TD drive.
People calling for Mario’s head after 4 games have 0 football IQ, it’s the same porsters that want attention. He has a LENGTHY uphill battle with both the players and the fanbase after yesterday, and will have to change his offensive philosophy to make this work…but I do believe his culture and accountability is a good thing for this program.
We need a plethora of rotten garbage to leave this program, and it’s not hard to see after last night.
This is why it’s a 3-4 year rebuild to be relevant nationally. Richt’s recruiting was bad and Diaz’s was even worse. We missed on almost all of our evals. It’s hilarious to think about it now, but Golden was the better recruiter of all the three. With slightly better coaching his guys were pretty decent from 2016-2017. It’s clear that once we lost those guys, everything plummeted. We’re talking about a roster thats 28-21 over four years, has never won a bowl game, and has routinely lost to G5 teams.I agree. This bunch is uncoachable. They’re missing the rings the chain the disco dancing and camera muggin. And they now get paid to get their *** kicked. I don’t blame Mario. There’s no quick fix here. He realizes by now that this is not the same cane team he remembers. He inherited a much better situation at Oregon than at Miami. I know he will put the work in. This I don’t care mentality has to go.
Not saying he doesn't fit the SFL culture, its just that its riddled with it on the team, which is bread through whatever culture is local.I'm tired of the "doesn't fit the SoFla culture" thing. This. Lots stop pretending there aren’t plenty of Mario red flags here. The team is a reflection of the HC and the HC has been a huge ***** that instills no accountability in game so far.get your dogs, and you'll still have a coach that should have pulled TVD by the second series of the game.
