A Rotten Roster full of (Mostly Florida) Divas?

No feeling of Building something??....What tf were you Building down 20 schollies (at that time) and barely being to hold practices??...
Take 20 schollies from Mario and holler back.
You still don't comprehend what people were saying. There wasn't a single Miami fan in 1997 saying "hey, be patient. We're down 20 schollies. Butch is building something". People wanted him fired, period.

There’s quite a few...

Our money men/admin would just never hire them, because they’re not “Miami Bros”.

The prerequisites to even be considered for this job pretty much eliminates about 75-80% of most of the good candidates who would do well here, which is why we’ve been stuck in the same lame loop for the last 20+ years.
Lane sleep walks to 9 or 10 every year in this conference

I don’t think people realize how bad the coastal is.

UVA sucks. UNC has the worst defense I’ve seen in a minute, a competent offense should score 40+. Look at what App St and ND did lol, f^cking FAMU too. Pitt is average at best. VT and GT are dumpster fires. Duke is improved but still Duke.

We really should have won the Coastal this season. Not saying it can’t be done but man, if we play like we did on Saturday, we’re losing 3/4th of our remaining games.
wrong. if we play how we did saturday, we lose ALL our remaining games. if we cant beat middle tennesee state at home, who can we beat?

True, but conversely even if we play like we did against A&M, we probably finish no worse than 8-4.

agreed. one would think if we could keep it close and competitve against a team like AM full of blue chip players, in their stadium, then we should badly beat middle tennesse at home.

I was a 10-2 predictor, so needless to say im disappointed. I think 8-4 is BEST case at the moment.

Nothing you said is incorrect but how can a man who won two PAC 12 have us look this unprepared, uninspired, and downright buffoonish. This is one of the most well paid staffs in America. No excuse for what we saw. This is simply not a good team. Can Mario facilitate enough immediate adjustments that at least have us showing improvement over the course of the year ? That’s his task now along with keeping a top recruiting class together cuz we definitely have a disease, JAGitis has infected this team and the cancer must be removed.
All of this so accurate from you and the OP.

I just choose to (very optimistically I might add) believe that any player that has IN ANY WAY been associated with the prior staff may very well be incapable of accepting the consistent requirements of the new coaching staff.

I know, this may sound pie in the sky at the time, but let's be honest, with the amount of coaching years of experience this staff has and the HOF gold jackets, and ED Orgeron throwing in a hand here and there...it is very hard for me to put the majority of this on the coaching staff.

Bottom line is that we are all baffled and ****ed off at how this could ever possibly happen, even in this year of early upsets, with this type of talent on the field and in coaching. We all want a simple answer and somewhere to place the blame and point the finger....it just isn't going to happen. It sounds like bull**** standard coach speak coming out of Mario, but he is right, it was a monumental and collective effort of a deuce on that field....we sucked so ******* bad that my stomach still hurts to even think about it or having to go through another season with such freakin anger.

Mario would too if he would’ve hired a OC that fits here lol an explosive offense covers alot of bull**** we seen it last year

That’s never been who he is. He’s a win at the LOS guy, not run a fast paced offense that scores 40+ a game.

Those South Florida divas were beating the best high school teams in the nation during the preseason. We aren’t getting enough of the right ones and we aren’t developing them the right way. It’s a 20-year cycle that needs to end.
The first sentence is pointless and meaningless.

The second sentence sums up our purgatory.

Lane Kiffin and Mark Stoops would win 9 games with this roster and god awful schedule.
Stoops is who I wanted, but when it came down to we either get Mario or keep Manny. I think we all were ok with the pick between those two and I don’t think guys on here realize that. It’s not a matter about the other options that were out there. We as fans have no choice and there were only two guys who would have been the coach of the team this year.

Yep he’s gonna find out if he hasn’t already that won’t be successful at Miami. Its the wrong formula for when u have the elite WRs in the nation in your backyard and the game transitioning to WRs. Thats the advantage Miami could have it can be a perfect storm

Don’t necessarily disagree with you but for conversations sake,if next year Miami wins at least 9 games next year with the same offense, 40ish rushing attempts and 30 passing attempts. Is that not a successful year?

Others can speak on the culture of thing the younger kids much better than I can as I’m not in the area but just because Miami would move to a fun offense doesn’t mean the elite of the elite kids would come.

Winning gets the elite kids, nothing else.

Yea its different ways to win im just thinking of best possible situations. Id be happy with either one if we’re winning

And as far the culture of kids lol u wont find many other places with kids who love football more than here, this is all they know. Majority of them have been playing since peewee, its what they have done almost everyday of their life bro its not just a coincidence that south florida itself produces the most nfl players.

The anger the fanbase has for them is misplaced it should be shifted toward the program because it fell so far to the point we’re questioning what even got us to the mountain top. Howard went into the inner city of Miami to build this program, “State of Miami” wasn’t just a slogan it was real life

Every player on this roster I heard was a DAWG at some point. This is just something fans like to talk about to give them some kind of hope. Couch was a dawg, Blades was a dawg, James W. was a DAWG. Taylor was a DAWG. Breshard, Romello, Kitchens, Avantae, and on and on and on. I'm sure the NEXT class, that's the one that's got the real DAWGs in it. Fact is, Mario didn't have his team prepared enough to play A&M and capitalize on their mistakes. Then, he let it carry over. He's also broken TVD by way of Gattis, Mario said as much. Now he has to see if he can unbreak "one of the best QBs in America" -his words.

We have to recruit better in South Florida, the rest of Florida, and the country.

Not really a fair post here.

what I meant with the culture thing is that the top kids around here have been moving teams and schools every year since peewee i to play for winning teams or getting pimped out by handlers or parents but they are all of a sudden supposed to want to stay home and play for a team that they have seen win 10 games once in their lifetime…

State of Maimi nonsense needs to die as well. What worked in the 80s doesn’t work now. The only way to win now is to recruit nationally. It’s good to have a solid base from the home state but there’s a lot of kids on the same level out of state that would give Miami a chance compared to the local kids.
