A few things

Same thing was said about All-SEC Freshman Skai Moore

And Teddy Bridgewater. Oh and Amari Cooper, remember the excuses was "guys like him grow on trees, like Robert Lockhart better" lol. Doesn't seem legit. People calling Alex Collins "soft" meanwhile he goes on to being SEC freshman of the year.

What's funny is people crowning Fat boy al and son for "working hard" at recruiting. Lol wut????? When did people start giving out participation points. It's actually very weird how many excuses some people make for this guy. I mean its gotten to the point where mother****ers are saying it's ok for fat boy al to miss on kids because he's "working hard". NEVER heard that before.

This.

Totally. Let's fire him. And his entire staff. Start from scratch. **** the fact that we were a misstep in an investigation away from crippling sanctions and this guy is pulling in top 10 classes. Or that he's improved our record each year he's been here. Or that he has increased our recruiting in the inner-city of Miami with people like you ****ing at him from a message instead of supporting the team from SLS. Is he perfect? No. Do we need to make a few tweaks and changes? Yes. But yeah... Let's start completely over instead and see where that gets us because you know, it's expected to go from program life support to smashing the national championship trophy over our opponent's head. Some of you guys must have an IQ of around 70

What top 10 classes? He had ONE top 10 class.

He had the 36th ranked class in 2011 (OUCH). OK fine, he gets a pass because that was a short recruiting year.

He had the #9 ranked class in 2012.... which is OK but not great. But before you crown the guy, UF had the #3 ranked class and FSU had the #6 ranked class that same year. Also, we signed 33 kids that year.... which inflated our ranking.

He had the #20 ranked class last year.

This is not Miami level recruiting.

247 composite has replaced rivals as the most credible ranking in recruiting.

Judging by the composite rankings, if the '14 class holds up, this will be Al's 2nd top 10 class and 3rd top 15 class.

Funny how of our fans our still living in past."Our classes were built on kids nobody wanted, they came in and worked HARD!", "Highly recruited kids are bust look at Kyle Wright, Ed Reed was a 2 star recruit", "Stars don't matter look at that 1998 class", "Jimmy lived off finding hidden Gems, Golden has the same eye".

BTW what happen to silent Johnnie Dixon?

I think we jumped the gun on Dixon and Cook but the fact that both have pushed back their announcements signals to me that we are not giving up and battling for their services. I got faith in coaches Hurlie and Coley and think its not yet over.

what else could we possibly do with dalvin man... several in homes, official visit, teammates commited to UM, majority of his family wanting him at UM. i mean **** man

The worst part is that they'll then turn around and say things like "look at how little talent we have on defense! Gaines was a 2-star out of Buffalo, and Armbrister didn't have many offers!"

Stop misusing that word.

Not living in the past. I am with you, you have to recruit at a high level to win big. But our average class since 2002 is 13. I don't know why some of y'all are under the impression that we recruit these huge power house classes and this "just isn't Miami caliber." Yes the **** it is. This is us. Our highest class ever in these rankings is 5. We have only finished in the top 10 in half the years since they started this ****. We don't have the fancy other **** that teams have. We have to win consistently to get recruits. We are winning more, hence our recruiting classes are getting better. You can't really argue that they are improving. You guys are comparing us to Alabama and FSU and ****...we aren't that ******* good yet! Accept the reality. We can't sway all these top dogs with our half empty stadium and ***** *** fan base without winning. If anything, I'm mad at this staff for losing the Coastal, not for their recruiting. Why is this **** so hard to understand? I feel like I'm talking with my wall

and @Ernie & Tpo.... Ernie is talking about how missing on lane, Sony, and cook is the reason we won't win national championships. In 2002, we signed 7/10 top kids in south Florida. How many rings did that class win? Now look at contributors from 1998-2001 from south Florida, look where they were ranked, and ask yourself how many rings did they win.

You guys are putting too much stock into the 'top ten' from south Florida nonsense. No matter what site it comes from. At the end of the day the sites aren't infallible and you can see this. In 2008, I don't think you could ask for a better south Florida class. Looked what happened. Evaluations > Stars. This past summer when Jackson committed everyone was mad at golden, now people are fearful to lose him.

It's December, just relax.

LMAO

What are you saying, that Cook, Sony, Lane aren't legit Miami caliber players? That we're better off losing them? Delusional.

No I'm not. I'm saying what I posted.

You want to talk about championships and recruiting..... so lets talk about the last time we won a championship. In 1998-2001 did we land 6 or 7 kids out of the 'top ten' kids in south Florida every year? No. Did we still go on to win a nc in 2001. Yes. More to recruiting than star rankings is what I'm trying to get through your head. How you coach the players you receive, the evaluations, etc. FSU has done a good job of this and that's why it's paying off. I never said those guys aren't a big loss, but to act like we can't recover from it is just ignorant.

Last year was a disappointment, no matter how you twist it. But to say this class is a failure....because we only have 5 out of the top ten kids is a joke.

FSU had an average class ranking of 5, per 247 sports, over the last three years. Auburn had a ranking of around 10. Now they're on their way to a NC. Right now our ranking is 5th. Depending on our finish, if we recruit at this level over the next three years we will be in a good position. We can't go back and add players to the previous classes. Was their mistakes made? Obviously. But looking what we are doing in the trenches this cycle. I would take our Oline class and Dline class over FSU. And so would some of the experts of 4 main recruiting sites.

We hold on to our players, and keep recruiting like this and we will be fine.

You guys are melting down before these kids even make a decision. Just relax.

It is December...It is going to be very interesting to see how we actually close this class

The misses and the surprise recruits out of no where...AL and this staff have no limits, no boundaries
but are under a lot of pressure to fill some wholes quickly...The funny thing is we actually have 28-29
commits so to see who drops off and who sticks and those that are added is going to make for a interesting
ride for the next 2 and 1/2 months...

One thing he is faced with is he needs immediate impact players on both sides of the ball, players that can create competition
and he needs to build a lot of depth...

Aren't you 16? Can you even name five players from the 1998 team?

If we keep losing the top player in South Florida year after year it is a failure. There's 2 elite running backs down here--we probably won't get one. We're about to lose a WR we've been recruiting harder than any other WR all year. That's a failure and the coaches would tell you the same **** thing, that it's a failure when you don't get your top targets.

Agree. Best player to come out of the 2008 class? Travis Benjamin IMO. If I'm not mistaken, he was one of the least recruited players in that class.
