A couple of thoughts

Dog.

Whether it’s Mario Mirabal or Dawson is not the thing here.

Mario hired Dawson for a reason. It’s the same reason he hired Gattis. It’ll be the same reason he makes his next hire once Dawson is gone.

The next OC will fit the framework Mario wants as an offense. The same framework he’s always wanted.

The fans are continuously getting lost in the details of who has what responsibility when in fact this is the preferred identity of the program and the next OC is gonna need to be in line with it as well.

He doesn’t recruit freak show OL and power running backs from high school to be any other way.

Oh I agree. But I think if Mario were the source, he's just stubborn enough he wouldn't change. Whereas he "might" hold Dawson accountable for more production. Barring that, Dawson is more likely to mov on to another job at some point. Mario's not going anywhere.

Here's your 2025 playoff offense bro

We blitz’d more to get Bain more one on ones since Mesidor was injured and not playing.

Ppl on this site say “we never adjust” then when we do adjust they complain.

Stanford TE dropped a few and the passes for off target as a result of the PRESSURE that was being brought.

______
Offense didn’t look great but I did see us mix in more RPOs on early downs which will help to slow down the Safeties and LB who’ve been crashing down super aggressively on our run game.

Yes more creativity is desired but if Beck and can consistently hit on the RPOs without turning it over we will see a much more consistent outcome in both the run and pass game.

Snark in the place of substance.

So on-brand.
I think you mistook what I said originally as criticism. It’s not. I’m good with being a tuff and fizical brand of football. I am probably one of the biggest Dawson defenders on the board.

I’m just not sure why people think that if Dawson moves on it will be a chance to hire some completely different offense.

We can win big like this just hope to see more small wrinkles like we did in the second half moving forward. Small wrinkles go a long way in this offense we’ve seen it. Some tough games ahead.

But Dawson being hired at all, and then having the #1 offense in the country running a lot of air raid concepts, is proof positive that your narrative re: Mario is wrong.

We want our next OC to run the same or similar system if at all possible.

We're ready for a change in the pacing, rhythm and overall level of aggression in the play calling which will nicely complement the foundation that Dawson has built.

There’s no narrative. Mario wants to control the trenches in particular between the tackles. We ran between the tackles last year as well. If we brought in Andy Reid we would still want to control the game between the tackles.

It’s not a bad thing. When it’s clicking it’s pretty **** impressive actually.

There's a path to it really syncing nicely with the air raid, in a way that is different from the field in a good way. We're just not quite there, missing a few key pieces that could make something great.

* We must run tempo. Utilize depth, don't give opponents time to out think our out execute approach.

* I never want to see us stick with a play call that's at a numbers disadvantage again.

* Get better at dictating the numbers question the defense gets asked with formation design and motion. Tight line gaps and air raid spacing was also the weird fit, but we've seen enough to keep sorting it out.

Couldn’t agree more.

I don’t think much needs to change. I suppose that’s part of the frustration at times. There’s no philosophical overhauls needed.

I don’t hate tight formations. They can be deadly in the pass game we’ve seen that a lot.

I will say taking a step back the biggest complaint all season for me is the offensive pre snap penalties. If you’re going to run an offense like this and be more methodical then you can’t have that happen as well.

I keep bringing up that Lofton screen pass because it was so easy. Just more of that type of thing mixed in is all we really need to do.

Lyle, Moore, JoJo are some nice added weapons for the stretch run as well.

We have the most football smart WR prospect CFB has seen in years.

Every tight bunch formation should be a threat to go Art Briles wide and every wide formation should have the threat of Toney eating your LBs lunch.

Show both, use both.
