2027 5* RB Kemon Spell

Other than Barry only other real talent on offense they had was Herman & Brett. But when scott mitchell is the best option you got at QB that's just no bueno. Nothing too special on defense either besides spielman if I remember right.

Been a season ticket holder for the Phins and CANES since 79. Seen alot of RB's and that post definitely brought up some bad memories for me. I used to run a Valet Parking service and one of the doors I ran was The Crab House on 79th st. I used to park Claytons car up front and he would chill outside with me and talk ball. I remember telling him I thought this young kid Irving Spikes was going to be great and he just chuckled and said the Phins will never get Dan a star RB. 🤷‍♂️
Irving Spikes #40.

I probably was like 6 when he was our rb ..still remember i was orn into this CANE AND DOLPHIN mess a diehard...my entire family as well weve been passing this pain down were on 3rd n fourth generations as my daughter is a brainwashed cane...not sure if she is fully on dolphin yet. lol

He was slippery like a glove in his prime!

I let his name come up once without saying anything. Guess I'll give my two cents. Being honest Brett had his moments with them that were pretty good. He also disappeared for quite a few years too once the injuries and lack of talent around him caught up. That was the same issue Johnnie had as well. He had his moments. Even several years when he was pretty good. Than the injuries and the lack of talent around him caught up as well. Other than on special teams he was phased out of the game. I'll give y'all lomas brown. I had just forgot about him. But he was a dog on the line. Herman Moore was a beast though. He was always a constant with Barry. That's all they had

Why does everyone overlook Jim brown?
I said Jim Brown as one of the names mentioned for two through five. The real problem at least for me with dudes from that era is the same as when you mention Wilt Chamberlain for basketball in that era. You just have to be honest with yourself that there was certain dudes that stood out because nobody was on their level athletically or physically. Look at the dudes that played around him and what their physical profiles were. I'm sorry but for me that disqualifies him. If Barry played in that era, I myself wouldn't know how amazing the dude really was. Because the majority of the league was Al Bundy and his boys from Polk high. At least if you were the late 80s the '90s the 00s etc you knew you were surrounded by dudes that stood out as well.

I think LT and barry were the best rbs I've seen in my lifetime. Lt could do everything. He was a red zone monster. He perfect the pileup hurdle. He could block lineup in the slot or outside run between the tackle and in zone in the open field he was elusive. He also could lineup as a wildcat QB. I don't think his 31td in a season will ever be topped.

That’s fair and reasonable. I think you’re correct about his physicality compared to everyone else in the area. However, what I always come back to is an athlete like Jim Brown doing what he did then I would assume that with modern weight training and everything, his athletic profile would have been lifted equally by that. But you are correct, it is difficult to compare arrows. He was more of a man than anyone he played against. The other thing with him is that he walked away from the game midway through his playing career, and that limited truthfully his ceiling. Would you put Earl Campbell in the same boat?

If you read the part that I had initially said Earl was one of the people I mentioned as well.

I've been watching football since the 80s. Barry Sanders is the best I've ever seen. No one really comes close. Maybe Walter Payton, but I only had the fortune of watching the second half of his career. Eric ****erson was great, but didn't sustain that greatness for very long. Others like Marshall Faulk and Tomlinson were great, but still, not at Barry's level. I loved the 9ers backs from back in the day too--Roger Craig, Garrison Hearst, Ricky Waters, Frank Gore, but no one holds a candle to Sanders. That guy did it with a below average oline and subpar QB play.
