I can only get so hard.
YES! Oh man, dunno if I can rub another one out here or not, might have to wait an hour.. gettin old here...

Harlan Barnett or Mike Tressel might want to stop being co-coordinators ...
Michigan State claims to run the "old Miami" defense ...
"4-3 vs 3-4 is just a difference in alignment; 1-gap vs 2-gap is a difference in philosophy."
Saw that in a coaching manual and think it's important to remember that nothing magically improves by having that 4th guy bend over and put his hand on the ground. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a 3-4, and more and more and more teams use it now to counteract the spread. They key is what type of 3-4 you use, if you use it.
Richt just said on 560 that he likes the old Miami defenses 4-3 2 shell...
We back?
Welcome back Randy Shannon

Would be fine with me. Was a nasty DC when we had a real head coach and good strength coach.
Keeps it simple and lets his guys play fast.
Rix and Bowden used to joke that studying game film for Miami was tough to do because they ran the same **** on defense every play and never gave you any other pre-snap looks. They just beat you 1 on 1.

there is a difference in assignments and personnel used to play either system... You don't need to play 3-4 to counteract spread, it's not a new offense, it's been around forever. Problem is finding players to play in 3-4, you need big guys that can cover at LB position and even bigger guys up front at Tackle
