3 days later, are you more/less impressed with the win over florida?

The further away from it we get the more people are just going to see a 57%, 160 yard game. It looked and felt worse than that in game but I’d expect the heat on his performance to continue dying down.
 
I feel fine. Beck was fine he wasn't as sharp but the weather was awful and UF did exactly what FSU did to keep it close and try to luck their way into a win so we played a slow grind it out game and beat them at that as well. We were not at our best and still thoroughly dominated that game. When we needed a stop and drive we did easily. Not every game is going to be your best.

We man handled Florida in a way LSU didn't. Held them to half the yards that the "elite" LSU defense did. Granted it was pouring for 3/4 of the game. Pedo State also hasn't looked impressive against one of the easiest OOC schedules in the country. It's where we should be if you look at our body of work. That being said, there were like 6 AP voters that had us at 6 😂
 
I remember a lot of games when we were at our peak that we still had games like that offensively.

2001 vs BC 20-41 222 0TD 4INT

And there were a handful of other games where if you looked at Dorsey's stats they weren't great.
But guess what - in those games we ran the ball and our defense was ferocious!!!!'

It makes sense to be honest.

Gators looked much better against LSU.. and with a somewhat decent QB they could have won.

LSU is viewed by many as a pretty good team.

Also, that Gators defense is top 5 to 10 good.

With all that said.. we completely dominated them on both sides of the ball, especially on defense. We heeled them to historically low numbers in UF history.

AP is finally factoring in things that matter.
 
How can you not be thrilled at this point lol we are #2 in the country with a strong case based on resume to be #1 if prior seasons weren’t taken into account in the rankings.

Beck’s game was worrisome to me - he was legit bad - I think he will bounce back against FSU given their bull**** pass rush and the DBs being nowhere near as strong as UFs were.

Health is the main thing moving forward - still thin at a few spots.

Development over these next two bye periods is beyond important. Need a few more younger guys to develop to provide some snap relief in these games.

This. Even in Championship years, there are games were we struggled that we should have won convincingly on the score board. Just play Hurricanes football on both sides, week in and week out, and we'll win 90% of our games. SATURDAY vs Florida was CANES football FAST & FIZICAL. If we ain't proud to see the big boy football we played it'll never be enough.

I’m not saying we didn’t deserve it.

I’m saying I’m surprised the AP Poll voters did it.
