3*CB Daran Branch commits

Barton Simmons saw him at the opening and said he liked him. Seemed like he played at a much higher level than his film displays. He's gonna give him a rating bump as well which should make him a high 3 star or close to.

All this won't matter if he flips but just thought i'd share with y'all.

Per 247 director of scouting, Barton Simmons

-He's a legit 6'1" with great length.
-Was very impressive in The Opening regional, thought he could be a 4* candiate
-Doesnt think there's enough on film to make him a 4* yet, but thinks he has the tools and could get there and has NFL upside
-Compared him as a prospect to Michael Jackson

Athletically he reminds me of Kacy Rodgers Jr. which is not great. You couldn't ask for better size & frame from a DB and he doesn't have heavy feet like a lot of bigger DBs. There just isn't any explosive movement to his game which is concerning. He moves at 1 speed and barely gets off the ground when he jumps. He's a willing run defender but doesn't play with much force as a hitter.

I hope I'm wrong because if he can add some twitch and/or power to his game he could be a Sean Smith or Pat Watkins type. Otherwise I see a zone corner or rotational safety type.

The LSU offer might never come...

If you see their board they are stacked with some very shiny stars committed and chasing

Hope he signs in December.. Is he an early signee??

All it takes is an LSU offer and this kid will get a huge bump in the rankings.

It is. Kids committing and keeping the recruiting open and not hiding that is the new normal and will continue to be
No. Miami has a decommit problem. There is a difference between saying you open to take trips and actually being open. Clemson has had just 2 decommits since 2015 and 1 was because of grades and the other one recommited. Miami had 17 last year and is already at 9 for this class.

Good pickup. Taking the brand national. It's a nice day to be a Cane. Kids are going to be knocking at the door soon.

We have a decommitt problem because we've had a winning on the field problem.

The one year we actually did well, 2017, the only guy we lost of any consequence from spring onwards was Jobe IIRC.

Clemson has had the best program in the country since 2015. If we had those results, we wouldnt have all the decommits

This. Every year we’re top 3 at about this time.

Plenty of other schools have a winning problem, this is the only place with the insane number of decommits every year.

Unc probably has 5 wins combined the last 2 years and miami had more decommits last year than there 2 years combined. Had more than fsu last year and they won 5 games.

Other schools have a lot of decommits too. UF lost like 10 guys when they had their 4-7 season. FSU lost a bunch of guys this past year. Same with USC.

Miami doesnt have bags though so bad seasons hit us worse. No doubt about that

But if we win, guys will stick. It's that simple

UNC doesnt have recruits good enough to decommit.

They had zero 4* when Fedora was fired and a class ranked in the 70s. Who was going to decommitt from that? What a random, nonsensical comparison.

And FSU just had their worst class in forever. So yeah, results matter
