If it’s one thing I didn’t like last night is we blitzed too much. They safety blitzes were terrible and Castellanos was just easily throwing to the vacated spot. We blitzed too much in general.

The front four doesn’t need the help they’re that good

So crazy to me that I remember in the offseason, unsure when either Spring or Fall I think it was D$ and macho saying the Defense was missing a "tone" setter, someone that can deliver the big hit and get the guys rallied.

My guess was that was maybe just from watching practice and not anticipating how violent these guys would be once games were played and they got into the vikings scheme. Because I legit think we have multiple now... Thomas has been a terror and absolutely brings it every snap, Toure has had his big hits, Bain/messidor combo, I feel like we have a tone setter at each level of the defense.

To date, i have never seen a D Lineman play/wreak havoc like Sapp did against Nebraska in the OB. Bain and Mesidor are incredible to watch and are slowly working hard to get to Sapp's level of disruption imo.

what a game. sapp singlehandedly kept us in that game thorough the first 3 quarters. i forgot lawrence phillips played tailback for nebraska that year
