Agreed. Take an undersized kid like Cam Pruitt who ******* decleats people when he hits them. Big difference. Not down on this kid specifically I don’t know enough about him
Hardest hitter at my HS was 5'9 175 lol he also got hurt 2 years in a row for hitting like that and just not being big. I know dude is 200 pounds which is small sure he will get bigger 220-230 range. I like the speed numbers an Heatherman taking a Rurgers Greg Schiano recruit i trust. We'll see wlcome to the U!

I do not want 200 lbs linebackers period. When they add weight most of the time they lose quickness 9 out of 10 times. Bring me 220+ or 215 that can run.
Maybe he wasn't brought in to play LB? Maybe he was brought in for a different position?

You folks need to relax and chill out. Support this young kids decision to come here and improve the state of this program instead of hating before he stepped foot on campus...

these havent been aging well lately. One year does not indicate a coach is good or will be good, remember Mel Tucker. If Lashlee's success is sustained for 3 or 4 years then we can say he's a good coach. Remember Mario has 2 power 5 conf titles and would have qualified for the playoff multiple times if it was 12 teams. The bar is significantly lower now. Im curious though, how would this board have reacted if we made the playoffs and then got smoked by 4 touchdowns in the first round? Some how I dont think it would have been hailed as some great accomplishment. But again anything to sht on Mario, carry on.

And I just looked at SMU's schedule last year. Mario would have been undefeated or 1 loss at the most and been in the ACC championship game and made the playoffs no doubt with that schedule.

I guess they didn't play the indomitable GT or unstoppable Syracuse, so maybe you're onto something.

I counted 2 of those in ~4 minutes. It is only going to get harder against P4 comp.

I'm not talking about poor technique. I'm talking about a lack of power behind his pads.
I mean he isn't even on the team! Yet, he is being lumped in with our QB. Like they can't add weight in 16-20 months when they get here!....this board

In this passing era, lb's that play the run like a lb'er, and cover the pass like a s/db are invaluable. Appears that's the vision here. Welcome!

*as in the vast majority of cases, time will tell

In the past they were under 200 and couldn't run at all. At least this kid can run and cover lol so progress. But I hear you. Ready made physically is always better. But with LB's they gotta have football IQ. Canes have recruited too many retards at the position who can never learn their assignments and the opponents exploit it.

It’s possible I suppose

Just saying Heathermans specialty is linebackers so if he’s got a type he envisions I’m willing to kick back and see how it plays out

Lord knows we have been terrible recruiting the position for a long time
Ok your common sense has got me off the ledge. I will say I've been involved with highschool football going on 9 years I asked a coach familiar with the young man. Said supreme athlete, raw, but very coachable. I felt a **** of lot better after that and what you added.

The added weight this cat will need to add (20-25lbs) will dilute current speed advantage. Recruit LB’s in the 215-220lb range

If your response was this then my work here is done. You completely ignored losing by 4 touchdowns in the playoffs being acceptable 😂

GT literally beat the SEC champions and got shafted out of the game by refs who would not let Georgia lose. Sounds like a decent team to me but **** what do I know 🤷‍♂️
