2023 Roster Discussion

Yeah not sure how many more we could carry. We ended the year last season with 31. Lequerica was a slightly below average pitcher against CUSA opponents last year. Not sure how the brass thinks he's going to be capable of getting out ACC batters.

Makes gino’s job easier.

Instead of having to take talent and coach it down to the level of “mediocre ACC” players, it’s better for him if they start off as below average performers in the first place. Less work for him and the staff, although he seems to make taking talent to it’s lowest level of performance look easy.

Still all 39 on the roster by my count. We’ll see if anything gets updated before practice starts in a few weeks.

So the roster limit is 35 for 23' but it can be up to 40 if those 5 students lost their 2020 season.

The scholarships can only be spread over the 27 players

Roster has finally been updated. Cut down to 35 (still higher than our usual 31-33 to start the season). Derks, Fry, Dominguez, and Bermudez are all gone.
Derks and Fry were MIA in the fall. Dominguez and Bermudez played sparingly. Wonder if they were just redshirted.

With Dominguez out guessing that means Renzo is now a full-time 1B
He was alternating with Kayfus there yesterday. Dorian at 2B and Dom at SS with Cyr sliding between the spots. Torres and Garcia at 3B. Yoyo was hitting and running only after an injury scare Thursday.

D1 does have Dominguez and Bermudez in the portal on their transfer tracker, so those two, at least, seem to be gone for sure.
