2022 2022 Recruiting

I just don't understand how any of the decision makers can justify keeping Coach L around. Yes, he was great for our program in the past, but things have clearly passed him by. Just another sign that the AD is asleep at the wheel.
Used to think baseball had turn the corner, but that imploded this year :

It's going to take multiple years to get back to any kind of competitiveness unfortunately. And that's IF Blake somehow lucks into a competent coach to replace L.

Don't have a date, but there was an article about Jalen Duren in The Athletic that came out today, and it mentioned that he had three of his official visits set up (all within the next month), and one of them was Miami (Memphis and Kentucky were the other two).

We have zero chance. But maybe his name being mentioned with Miami will help us entice some more realistic recruits here? One can hope.

Hearing Miami or Pro. Gonna be sad when he's tearing it up in the G League and he mentions that he would've went Miami if he had to go to college. A shame because a commitment here is a program changer and likely the reason we picked up his AAU coach as a member of the staff.
A hard sell on getting him to reclassify and some type of presentation of an NIL deal to combat G-league money might be the only chance.

It is a moral victory that none of us want.
In fairness, this is why the Irving hire was questionable.
Most people expected immediate dividends that were never realistic.

Don’t understand the negativity on DJ Irving at all. Within two months he has a potential top 5 pick, the only Miami one being Rick Barry, on campus for an official visit. Additionally, he hasn’t even been able to have an influence coaching the current team yet.

Because CIS posters are known morons.

Agree.

3 visits: Memphis, Miami, and Kentucky. Memphis just had Mousse Cisse and other notable players such as Boogie Ellis transfer out. Woj tweeted Penny Hardaway eyes an NBA job. Miami’s schedule is much better than Memphis.

As Kentucky is the biggest threat, have to hope the potential spacing concerns with Oscar Thshiebwe and Damion Collins plus the opportunity to lead a team like Cade Cunningham outweighs a stronger chance at a national championship - which would hypothetically lead him straight to the #1 pick over Chet and Paolo.
