Post Draft Roster Projection

LF: Lala
2B: Vilar
SS: Zamora
C: Del Castillo (assuming Amditis signs)
3B: Gil
DH: Gates
1B: Toral
RF: Rivera
CF: Hall/Jenkins

Bench OF: Jenkins/Hall, Cloonan, Crosbie, Bradbury, Moore
Bench IF: Escala, Tuero, Valdez, Paige
Backup C: Quinnones, Thomas, Labrador

Weekend Rotation: McMahon, Cecconi, Van Belle
Midweek: Eskew (if he doesnt sign), Carmona

Set up/Closer: Gates, McFarlane, Keysor (if he doesnt sign), Federman
Other Returning Bullpen: Maury, Cook, Ruiz
Other Incoming Frosh/JC: Bodanza, Thomas, Diaz, Palmquist, Garland.

I left some guys off I doubt will be back, and obviously there will be more transfers/attrition to get down to the final 32. Lots of options for DiMare next year, both at the plate and on the mound. Hopefully we get at least 1 of Eskew/Keysor, as I think they'd be the best midweek options

I think some people are sleeping on Ruiz as a possible set up guy. He was injured for most of the year. But was lights out when he returned in the NCAAR

You gotta imagine a few of the highly touted freshman pitchers go to the bullpen, hopefully in Long relief

Most likely Amditis will be back

Anyone know anything about Hall’s ACL injury? If it was really recent, it might be cutting it close for the start of next season

I’d assume Rivero will be back in the bullpen too. Actually healthy is a different story of course....

A welcome change and a nice problem to have. Now, we have to translate to the field and Gino can repeat this kind of class in the future.

good rundown.

I like the "field of 8" lineup, as one I think will be just as strong next year, BUT …. Zamora at short still scares me.

Any chance, in your view, he is "redistributed?"

He hit .290 and well over .300 his last 20 games.
And Gino still had him in the bottom half of the lineup. With everyone above him in the lineup returning, who are you dropping? The only possibilities are Gates, Gil, VIlar, Zamora. He's not a 2 or 3 hitter, so the last two are out. Although, I suggested moving Vilar or Zamora down as a 2nd leadoff hitter, but got shot down a few months ago. I can see the argument for Gates or Gil. However, they both hit over .300 as well.
Awesome problem to have though! Summer league will be of benefit to all playing. Fall will be incredibly competitive. I am pumped for next year's squad. I hope they live up to half the hype we're about to heap on them. ;)

2020 lineup proposition:

1 Lala CF
2 Zamora SS (swap in Hall when he is healthy)
3 Del Castillo C
4 Toral 1B
5 Gil 3B
6 Gates DH
7 Rivera RF
8 Vilar 2B
9 Tuero LF

All 9 are potential .300 hitters, and you have pop in 3-7 where you want it.
