2019 DB Kaiir Elam loves what Miami is building

This “occasional” contact by Rumph is lazy and unacceptable. I know for a fact Hartley is contacting his targets multiple times A DAY!! Whether it be a text, tweet, IM or phone call. I assume Dr. Donk is doing the same thing. That’s why they’re 2 of the best recruiters in the nation. Right or wrong, that’s what these kids expect.

To put this in context; when TC was on his OV w us, Coley was still reaching out to him. I’m sorry, but recruiting is about hustling and selling and it don’t stop until the ink hits the paper.

Occasional contact ain’t going to get it. I’m sorry, but I’m getting a little sick and tired of hearing this. How does Patke hit the ground running, yet Rumph hasn’t learned **** yet. The whole Tyson Campbell fiasco should’ve learned him something!

Most big schools have an army of staffers, tweeters, etc to stay on kids. I don’t think UM has that luxury

So make do! It don’t take nothing to drop a line to a kid. Can’t keep using the “small” school angle. We ain’t Bucknell or Buffalo. Rumph needs to get off his behind and recruit.

I never felt this kid was coming. But you fight tooth and nail for a kid from PBC. We've done well there in recent years, and it's unacceptable not to put in the work. Rumph is really disappointing me.

Here y’all go with the rumph bull sh*t again smh....

Recently the cbs rumph has been recruiting 5star dent,5 Star Steele, 4 star Jordan Davis have recently talked up rumph. In addition to that where exactly is he on the board? Does the staff feel like if they recruit him will he reciprocate that interest or will he play games. I think they got a better pulse on this than and know who to invest their interest in..

How the **** are they not going after this kid as like one of our top 4 targets at CB?

We ******* need 4 CBs in this ******* class, there is no ******* excuse not to be on this kid harder than any other team in the country.

I hope we're not barely recruiting him because we want Davis or something...as if we can't take multiple CBs. This bout to end up like Asante Samuel for us.

Elam has more ties to uf than Davis, there has to be a reason they aren’t recruiting him or they know something that fans don’t

What? We have 5 CBs returning for 2019 and none of them are seniors. We need 2, at most 3 if Frierson is moved to S.

I'm extremely high on Kaiir, he's the best CB in Palm Beach, better than Dent imo.

He said he's not committing until after his Senior season which means you have to play the long game. Keep recruiting him regardless of who gets a verbal, get'em on campus as much as possible.
Agree 100% and I have to say I was shocked when Elam said that Miami doesn't contact him as often as other schools. This kid is big time and should be viewed in the same way we view Stevenson, Sanguinetti, and Steele. Pure lockdown CB with great size and length to go with legit 4.5 speed. What in the heck are we waiting for?

We will have Bandy, Bethel, Ivey, Blades and Frierson at CB going into 2019. I'm a proponent of moving Frierson to FS like you said so that would leave us with 4. Given this scenario, I would ideally like to bring in 3 CB's in Surge19. We could get away with 2 but why bring in 2 when we can bring in 3. Taking 3 of the following would solidify the CB unit.

Stevenson
Sanguinetti
Steele
Elam
Davis

You must clearly have no idea how many CB's/S's you want on the roster per year. We want 15-16 DBs. We are going to have 8 returning for next season (cause I think both Finley and Knowles should leave - at the very least Finley, meaning we lose between 5-6 DBs). 8 is not good depth dude, its actually really bad.

Yeah we have 5 CBs returning, exactly why we need to take 4 more. Especially considering at least 1 of them - Frierson or Blades - could be a future switch to Safety. In all likelihood one of them will move to S. Secondly how would only taking 2 make any **** sense? We have BAD CB depth this yr, and we already have 7....We need 10 Cbs on this team. Maybe you don't realize this but essentially 3 CBs start. Having only 7, basically means you are ONLY 2 deep.

Like I said we need 4 CBs - 6 DBs total in 2019. Then in 2020 we'll be caught up and can take like 2/3 CBs depending if any of them had switched to S.

Also, you don't pass on a kid this talented. Stevenson, Richards, Davis, Elam, Steele, Sanguinetti are all takes 100%.... After them you got Renardo Green, Jordan Battle, Akeem Dent, Te'Corey Crouch, etc, etc.

Do you think we have good CB depth right now?
If no, then it literally makes NO SENSE to only take 2 CBs. Its that simple, we are losing 2 CBs - Jackson and Dean. That means just to get back to this depth we need 2 CBs. However, imo we have poor depth this yr. That means 3 is the absolute minimum for the 2019 CB class.

Now whether we get 3 or 4 Cbs is kinda depended on what position you think the guys play. I think taking 4 CBs makes the most sense though (especially if one of them could become a safety eventually). If we take 4 Cbs, then in 2020, we will have:
jr - Bandy
so - Ivey, Frierson, Blades, Bethel
fr - Stevenson, Elam, Steele, Sanguinetti or whatever

That means we'd have 9 Cbs on the roster. Ideally imo we have 10cb's and 6 s's. So Then if Bandy leaves early we will need 2 Cbs in the 2020 class to have ideal depth....and that's exactly what we should be hoping for. Plus this is if none of the dude switch to S at some point. So it just makes sense to take 4 in 2019

Stevenson above the rest imo

I remember when we used to play Bucknell..Buffalo? Don't know if we've ever played Buffalo. They have football at Buffalo?

Most recruits will not say anything negative about a during their recruiting process. So them talking up Rumph before they sign on with a class is nothing out of the ordinary. What counts is the finished product. How did we end up with Bethel in this class? I'll tell you how we missed out on multiple 5* and 4* recruits. What happened last year with PS2 n TC is unheard of. If your a supporter of Rumph or his boy thats fine he is decent/average coach, but acknowledge that his recruiting is horrible. Also stop bringing up Banda, Rumph is the Cornerback coach geeezzz.

We only missed on two cornerbacks that never had interest to begin with. Blades, Ivey, and Frierson are elite corners that committed. Bethel isn't a scrub he earned his offer and would've been a take no matter who we got but don't let reality keep u from believing what u want.
