(2/17) Miami vs. Cuse (CBS-Noon)

You're happy with an occasional Sweet 16 blowout, as though every program is forever stuck behind the Dukes and Kentuckys of the world.

What program(s) are no longer behind those two because they got rid of their best coach ever?

Also, name me a program at Miami's 2011 level that has ever reached Duke and Kentucky.

Prior to Larranaga's arrival, Miami had zero winning seasons in the ACC. Since then, we've had 5 winning seasons in 6 years.

2004-11: 43-69 (.384%)
2011-18: 71-49 (.592%)

He has taken us to the next level.

Again, maybe the next guy will have reasonably higher expectations. But that's only because of what Larranaga has laid down.

What most of these idiots fail to note is that Miami would have to hope and pray that some unknown they hire will turn out to be the next Sean Miller or Jay Wright. Miami isn't the kind of program that could go out and hire someone they could be relatively sure of. Coach L was a unique set of circumstances that has worked out better than most of us would have ever dreamed. We knew he was a competent coach(That made him a huge upgrade over Haith), we didn't know he was going to be a guy that completely changed the national perception of the program.

Even if Miami hits on the next Wright or Miller odds are those up and comers wouldn't even sniff at this job, and if they did, would bail ASAP. Jay Wright is at a school that has been successful in basketball for most of the last 30 years, Miller cut his teeth at Xavier, a powerful mid major, and then got a job at the U of A, a program that is far superior to Miami, and will most likely always be barring some kind of disaster. I know that Miami fans have this ignorant "If you aren't winning titles, you aren't ****" mentality, but this is too much. Understanding what you are as a program, and then maximizing that potential is what rational people do. Miami isn't Duke, nor are they UNC. That said, they can be a **** fine program that goes on the occasional run and is highly competitive in the toughest basketball conference in the country. That's what L is doing, and for us that have an IQ above 70, we appreciate what he has done.

We've won 3 ACC road games this year and we have exactly one loss to a mid-major.

So, again, nothing that you say is remotely true.

Its called hyperbole you moron. Either way losing more away games then you won in ACC play is not something to be content about. Also every single year we lose to these mid major teams. It is not just some fluke loss this year.

Uh, maybe Brad Stevens-coached Butler? Back to back Final Fours. And they weren't even playing in a major conference.

I am not sure if you know but Juco does not equal High School.

But apparently AAU does? Since you said that Lykes starting over Fultz on an AAU team meant, what? That he's a great player?

The problem is that I've watched 20+ games of Lykes playing basketball and he's not great.

So what's your point?

Would this be another one of your lies?

We didn't lose to a mid-major last year (2016-17).

But this is a stupid thing to say too since, you know, some mid-majors are good at basketball.

Wow. We went 2 years without losing to a mid major, but we had a bunch of other terrible losses those years. We get it you are OK with Miami being one of the ACC bottom feeders.

Who said anything about losing in the first round?

You are incapable of posting a competent response. You either say something stupid of just outright lie.

If it isn't the pot calling the kettle black. You are just a blind homer who is ok with Miami being an ACC bottom feeder.

Like which ones?

Just to show you how irrelevant losing to a mid-major is, the last time we did it before this season was 2015-16 (buzzer beater to Northeastern). That team went to the Sweet 16.

Like Wake Forest who got knocked out in the first 4 and Syracuse who didnt even make the tournament. Va Tech was also a bad loss. Just because they went far doesn't make it irrelevant. You like to point out that Miami isn't a blue blood so we should just be happy that we are even making the tournament. We have way more resources then those mid major schools so we should have no issue beating them.
