we refuse to hire anyone w no ties outside of golden. there are other guys out there when we hired Mario but only Mario would get the financial support. thats the single biggest problem. these new boosters only care if their guy is in there and not hire the best candidate.

you dont need 3 4 years anymore. you get fired in year 3 now. there is no such thing as a long rebuild. everyone wants to say saban lost in year 1 - guess what? he went undefeated in year 2 w a loss coming in the SECCG. he won a title in year 3. you can win right away in college just like you can in the NFL. the portal made that possible.

Of course they're going to make blunders. Corner is still an issue, same with linebacker, and same with the DL. At least it is with a decent to good opponent in the house. To give us a chance we take a lot of risk and sometimes it bites us in the ***.

The same ones who've downplayed how disastrous Mario's QB recruiting has always been by insinuating we'll land a whale of a portal QB will simply pivot to crowning our current backup as the next savior when we miss out on the Maalik Murphy-level transfer options.

They'll hype him up to absurdly unreasonable levels as if he's unquestionably elite and claim he's the reason top transfer QB's went elsewhere. It's going to get even more ridiculous around here once the games stop being played and the propaganda narratives come back out in full force.

The real victim here will be Emory Williams. That poor poor kid.
 
The A&M game was a fluke. Idk how many more times I have to say that. It’s the only P5 team with somewhat of a pulse Mario has beaten.
 
Kirby decided to ride with a midget walk-on despite having multiple blue chip QBs. He won ships because of that decision. I don’t want to hear that Mario gets a pass because TVD sucks. He chose to ride with TVD and did nothing to hedge that bet.

Fact is, Mario has set Miami up for failure with his “roster building.” Our QB room is a disaster. Our DB room is a disaster. Our DL room is a disaster. And there is no help on the horizon.

I look at the roster and I see one guy on defense — Bain — who looks like he belongs at an elite program. It really isn’t much better on offense.

Rashada was in the bag until he was misled. But other than that Imo the higher rated qbs didn’t want to sit behind TVD for a couple years

he inherited a team that was 2 freak plays from being 9-3 and a 3 point game from being 10-2.

It was never that bad. The dude just cant coach and his impact as a compiler of talent is yet to be seen here. in the portal era thats a failure

Example: Oregon vs Stanford 2018. Instead of a victory formation and the kneel for the win, he chose to run the ball. Same result-Stanford won. Oregon vs Auburn he called a timeout before opening kickoff. He's still the same Mario, great recruiter and O-line coach. Decicion maker? Not so much.
