18 games into Mario’s Regime

Mario has always said he needed 2 more classes. This was back when we were 4-0. My thing is in 2 years were more likely to be talking about the same early losses in this d@mn conference.
“I promise I’ll pay you back, I just need a few more weeks.. I swear”

*3 years later...

“Broooo, my bad I been looking for you this whole time, you didn’t get the money? I sent it to you in the mail man... Dang, well umm I’ll tell you what, just gimme a couple more weeks & I’ll make sure you get it this time, I promise!”

I been hearing that "We need 3 years" since Randy Shannon. It never works out. But thank god I got SMU as my back up. We'll win the ACC before Wario

Mario can recruit. Too bad he can’t coach. Eventually he won’t out-recruit his on field coaching.

Then the true fun begins

Wanted to start off by saying I’m keeping recruiting out of this rant, and will have a separate thread later (longer, more emotional rant).

Let’s get some really sobering numbers out of the way. Through 18 games, Mario is:
  • 9-9 overall
  • 3-7 in the vaunted ACC
  • 0-5 at home against ACC opponents
  • 1-4 against ranked opponents
  • Oversaw of the single-most embarrassing play in not only Miami’s history, but arguably all of college football

Certainly not 80 million dollars worth of results right there, but I’ll save that for the good part in the recruiting thread.

What I saw tonight was the same product I’ve seen for twenty years. In the first half, I felt like we should have been up 10…and then we got our *** absolutely blasted in the second half. UNC had 14 penalties for 147 yards, and we still lost by two scores. The refs will never call a better game for us.

If Mario Cristobal finds a way to win seven or fewer games this year, his seat would be warm at any school that game a **** about athletics. Especially now that Year 2 counterparts Venebles and Napier are experiencing varying levels of momentum in Year 2 (yeah guess what, Napier is 5-2 and has two more conference wins in 2023 than Mario has). Lose to UF to begin 2024, and I’d venture to say his seat would be hot.

But - it won’t happen. We’re stuck with Saint Cristobal for 5 years minimum. I’m not sure where to go after this performance, as I can easily see the team folding and losing five or six to close out another underachieving year. The hype was just that - again. And most of us fell for it.
Don't worry, Clemson next week will be a re-run of this week performance, worse hire we ever made, sorry to say it to all those Mario Slurpers.

Every coach always needs “2 more classes.” And hey time is undefeated so maybe one of these idiots will eventually get it right in like 2039. Hopefully by then we aren’t all wasting our Saturdays still running on this hamster wheel.

This was a great summation of Cristomoron! Thank you for your honesty! This coach and his staff are horrible! All the homers will say give him until year 3, 4… but year two should see some type of progress whether discipline or on field improvement and last night I saw none.

Oh that hamster wheel is coming. Mario needing 3 classes cause his not counting 2023 and throw in 3 years of the transfer portal to fix this. I don't like his odds

I said this when Golden was fired and I still feel this way. College football has passed the small, private school by. We just cannot seem to adapt, whether it is coaching, players or conference, the combination has destroyed us. Those of us that actually went to Miami and remember “that MIAMI” are being lost to time. The perception of Miami is mired in some history but mostly opinionated conjecture. I will always love the Canes but to think are return to anything approaching dominance is fleeting. Either it is systemic or environmental, we just cannot seem to build up and progress. I am not confident we ever will.

QBs don’t flock to him. His qb recruit for 24 is Judd and in 23 he got a 3 star in Emory - who may end up ok but we’re not getting top 10-15 types here.
Love dudes saying all we need is a QB as if they don’t see how we’re doing in QB recruiting. But don’t worry, we’ll address it in the portal, unless of course we lose a Coordinator and Mario spends all offseason putting them through the Secret Service hiring process while all the talent heads elsewhere.

Exactly.

Name one decent QB Mario has recruited in his entire coaching career.

The University of Miami football program is one giant money laundering scheme orchestrated by the Columbus Mafia. It’s how Lionel Messi was able to come here and prop up the MLS. The money is flowing through Christomoron in part, with his 80m contract being used as Messi’s signing bonus.
Good stuff.

Let's explore further.
