Why on Earth would he transfer and sit out a year when he could play one more year at UM and then declare for the draft? Tell me about all those 1st round WRs that played for Oklahoma in the last 5 years ... I'll wait.

He would have to sit out a year if he transferred. Why do people not understand the "new" transfer rule only allows players transfer anywhere they want without restrictions on what schools they can attend and NOT that they don't have to sit out the year.

He would have to sit out a year at any other D1 school regardless of academic dishonesty or not. Its either he's on the team for another year and declares, he transfers to a JC and then declares, or he sits out a year and declares. Everybody needs to stop with the transfer garbage.

This was how it used to be in the Big East. The ACC is an even split but there are financial ramifications for forfeiting games b/c of ineligible players including hefty fines. Bottom line is its just stupid to play a guy (ie: happening with Dewan Huell now) if you can't get the issue...

They couldn't get an answer about their eligibility prior to having to play in games so the choice was risk forfeiting games and $ or they don't play ... UM made the best choice considering the situation.

They would have to forfeit all of the MONEY from any post season game(s) so there's a reason they err on the extreme side of caution.

They couldn't get clearance from the NCAA that they wouldn't have to forfeit games they participated in so the school couldn't risk playing them.
