These things continue to be way too long.

I usually skim the play breakdowns, then flip to the bullet points at the end, but "coaching is questionable, OL stinks, LBs are underwhelming" was not very insightful. In other articles you do a great job of mixing qualitative and quantitative analysis - can you bring some of that to these? It feels like you're not playing to your strengths.

For example, you said "There were plays all over this film where the OL just refused to hit somebody". That sounds like something any angry Canes fan could say. It would be more insightful if you said how often this happened. What % of plays were there when there was an unblocked defensive player AND an OL not blocking anyone in the same play? Or something along those lines.

Here's another one. You said, "It is clear that Bud Foster didn’t fear the WR’s on Miami and played press-man a ton". How often? And how did Miami due vs. press-man?

I would be 1000x more interested in reading an article with that type of insight than flipping through ~50 screen shots of the game with undifferentiated commentary.

Just my 2 cents.

Try reading it next time and you’ll get your answers. The answers are right there in the play breakdown.

this is what is so funny about people.... if you know what Lance should have said and how he should have said it .... why the **** dont YOU do a game analysis thread ? we will be eagerly looking forward to your thread after the Virginia game, Junior.
no doubt Canes fans will benefit a lot more from your keen insights and football knowledge than reading someone being just a ****ant critic. Like Grandma used to say "Be an Asset, Not an *******".

I have a time consuming job that I am very passionate about and other causes that I volunteer my time towards. There's not enough time in the day to pursue everything you are passionate about.

So for now I am a consumer of Canes content, not a producer of it. It is unreasonable to think that only producers of content can be critics.

Not at a summary level. It's a bunch of individual anecdotes.***

You can disregard my feedback, of course. I don't care. It's your feature, do what you want. I'm just telling you it seems like, given your strengths, these articles could be a lot more interesting if you took a different approach.

(***In the highly unlikely event that this type of summary-level data is in there and I missed it despite flipping through it multiple times...then I think that just speaks to the importance of structuring content in a digestable way for your audience. I've spent lot of time presenting to CEOs and BODs, and if I ever showed up with a 100 page deck that has all the right info but doesn't summarize the main takeways in a compelling way that is immediately obvious to the audience, that would've been on me for not packaging it appropriately. I'm not saying I'm your CEO, but I am your customer so I am entitled to feel this way. You're also entitled to ignore me.)

How much are you paying for these articles?

About as much as you pay for your gmail, Google maps, search engines, all of your social media accounts, etc.

Do you think the companies that provide those services would consider you a customer, even though you've never written them a check?

Lulz at being a customer. You are a poster whining like a ***** about the post of a fellow poster, that is all.

It says "Staff Member" and "Moderator" under his name.

But maybe you're right. Maybe he's just a poster who dedicates his precious free time to churning out articles (most of which are good) that he doesn't want people to read.

Wow. Great job! Love these posts!
We might be one of the worst teams in the nation but we have some pretty awesome fans. Fantastic breakdown. Thanks. I

Haha. You are very self important. Get over yourself. Two straight posts on how you don’t have enough time bc of your job that you are an expert at. Take a self awareness class.

AlloverCane... so far in your posts you’ve painted a good picture of yourself. I could easily criticize you as well but I have a busy life too. Lighten up dude this is CanesInSight.

Possibly the worst Miami team EVER....and I go back a long way with the Canes. Even the talentless garbage we had in the 60’s and 70’s looked better. At least the players cared. Most of them just sucked.
I wonder if we dropped to FCS if we could win. Probably wouldn’t beat James Madison. These VA teams absolutely own our ***.
Hoos 35 Canes 14.

I already said it a while ago after the CMU game. Barry and Enos sucks both needs to be fired after the season. This is head banging into a wall type of stuff and we know it not going to change because these are small time coaches who only think there is only 1 way of doing things. Enos has already laid on his under-center offense sword and it Manny's job to tell him he won't do. The "spread coast" Enos probably sold Manny on was complete BS.

Once again, we continue to bail out Alabama and Temple from keeping terrible coaches or terrible recruits.

Also these defensive coaches suck. We are starting to see the affect of the misses in recruiting at DB. All of our CBs are slow and Bandy has regressed. Rumph and Panda built there success off Golden's players. Patke is actually the only unit that is performing. Our special teams (besides Bubba Saxa) has improved A lot.

I think you hit on an interesting point. If Enos was calling plays for Bama, he'd probably look like a genius with that offensive line. At Miami he is calling plays like he has an Alabama offensive line when it's closer to being on par with Alabama State. That's why we are probably going to set a NCAA record for sacks allowed (I wish I was joking).

We have:
An offensive line that cant block
A defense that cant tackle
A kicker who cant kick.

Other than that, we're all good.

Great write up and agree with all your last points. Everything Manny has shown us is very concerning but like you said we will be stuck with him for at least one more year after this one. OL and DL coaches need to be gone yesterday.

Patke coaches the LBs right? Against VT, both Shaq and Pinckney were out of position on nearly every play breakdown. Theyve started for 4 years! Is the problem that there is no one behind them? Well, that would be a Patke and Diaz problem for not recruiting that position better (though injuries have decimated that position group).

Unlike others I’m not too moved one way or another on Stubblefield, but if the OL can play all the snaps then JT4 and Osborne can play more so that Wiggins and Harley can be coached a bit more into fighting for 50/50 balls.

AND CAN ANYONE ON THIS TEAM TACKLE IN SPACE?

i used to think these kids play down to their opponents, but maybe they’re doing their best to overcome their coaching week in and week out.
Patke with the strikers . Baker got the other linebackers

Gotta give you credit Lance. Not sure I could sit through this nightmare a second time and actually take the time to break it down. You really are a glutton for punishment LOL.

Lance keep doing you!!! That poster is a clown.

Butch Barry has been an awful hire. I don't need to see anymore. Our O-Line is super dysfunctional. He needs to be gone after this season. Our guys come off the ball slow, look confused always, and never play with anticipation. I've seen enough

When your current OL coach is making your former coach look like Joe Bugel you know that there’s a big problem. Searles best OLineman was McDoormat and they were light years ahead of this group let that sink in for a few...

Donaldson has regressed to a point that I don’t even know what Butch Barry is even teaching he was never this awful.
