I hope we can somehow land one of them. The longer this goes without a commitment, the less likely that is though. I don't like being in the position of being the team-to-beat, but with one visit and another week of thinking left to go for Martell.

My prediction. Hurts chooses OU and loses the job half way through the season to Rattler. Martell chooses the canes. Doesn't receive his waiver and has to sit in 2019. Jarren leads us to the ACC championship where the canes fall short due to a last min Lawrence td. Canes dominate in a New Years 6 bowl against an $EC team. In 2020 Martell transfers to Nebraska where He leads the Cornhuskers to a Big Ten Championship win over Buckeyes. Plays the Canes in the Naty and loses a shootout against Heisman Trophy winner Jarren Williams as the Canes win their 6th National Championship. The End
Where is the "tent in pants" reaction?

Are you really concerned with Louisville?

Please delete this post. For your sake.
Why?Not saying Jarren is Cam. Just saying you cant base how someones career is gonna shape out after one season. Freshman Cam Newton didn't beat out Tebow. Did that mean Cam Newton wouldnt become great? Who would you rather have Cam or Tebow?

OU has the lure for Hurts. Tate the Great has the talent to start here Day 1 after spring graduation, and he has that God-given UM swag. Plus, Bubba and Brevin are his boys. Let's riiiiiiide.

unless something changes we are getting martell and quite frankly, his tape doesnt impress me much. i think jarren has way more potentional if he stops with the self pity.

Martell has moxy like Mayfield. He’ll have to learn quite a bit under Enos because he’s never been under center. But he can zip it for having such a small frame. His scrambling is elite though the kid has speed.

I do agree that Williams has the higher ceiling as a pocket passer. I mean people forget but OSU was pushing for Williams late into the cycle as well.

Because you’re trying to draw a comparison to not beating out one of the two or three most dominant QBs in college football history to another who was a never ending horror show under center.

I think Martell has the potential to be very good. I like what I see but I don't necessarily see that he will pay immediate dividends even if he does somehow get a waiver or the graduation rumors are true. He does make our team better so if he comes, great. Keep in mind that we have a guy on our roster who we also believe to have the potential to be very good in Jarren.

The slam dunk here would be Jalen Hurts. I realize that everybody's favorite player is the backup QB or the one who has yet to make a mistake on the playing field, but Jalen Hurts is a proven leader and winner. I really hope that we can bring him in. No way should anybody be valuing Martell above Hurts.

Cam Newton was one year behind Tebow. In 06 Tebows freshman year, it was Leaks team. Tebow basically ran wild cat in the redzone. Cam came in the next year.

I'd rather roll with Martell than Hurts. Hurts was the incumbent and he couldn't beat out true freshman Tua. Also, the kid may be a great leader but he can't throw the football and he won't have the best offensive line in college football in front of him. He reminds me of a Bob Griese, good player but is surrounded by great talent that makes him look much better than he really is. I'll take my chances with Cade, Perry, and especially Williams. Adding Martell would create a lot of excitement and competition. Don't believe Hurts is coming and not concerned at all. Remember, all three of our present QB's had lousy coaching the past few years and that will change shortly. GO CANES

Tua didn’t win the job outright until his So year...(halftime of the NC game)

Hurts won a ship as a freshman and played well cominhg in off the bench. Don’t discount Tua - he is super good.

Why are you discounting hurts for that reason and not martell who has yet to beat out anyone and is transferring bc of another kid coming in? Can’t explain that. Lol

With hurts at bama it’s not what he couldn’t do or him losing the job imo. Saban went with tua because of his ability as a pure passer. But You can win with Hurts. And win big. As a true fresh kid starting the whole year he led bama to a SEC title, won player of the year..as a true freshman ...Tua is a better pure passer, no doubt. But what hurts can provide in the run game, leadership and as far as taking care of the ball is important. Crazy thing against Clemson I’m convinced Hurts and a dynamic run game would’ve given bama a better chance just in that particular game. Bama imo moved away from its identity as far as being physical. Became to pass happy.

We bring in Hurts and it’s a trip to Charlotte and legit playoff chance.
