Update on transfer QBs

Nobody seems to understand that neither of these guys were a thought a week ago

Now we have a legitimate shot to drastically improve our QB position on a whim.

Obviously would love either or both but getting one is still a monster win

Martell was hand picked by Urban. Just let that sink in for a minute.

If we dont get Hurts, will we try another grad transfer qb?
If I was Martell, I would want us to do that knowing i have to sit out a year.

Tate was sought by Urban, sarkisian and by Kevin Sumlin who also had manziel and utilized him well

Tate is the goods

i don't think he is going to have to sit out a year, it appears he will graduate in the spring. I think that revelation is what is pushing Hurts away. There is more downside to following 2 Heisman Trophy winners than upside for a guy like Hurts IMHO I think he wanted to be here but Martell coming in and being able to play immediately will put Jalen at OU

What are the chances Martell gets a waiver to play next year?

I am cool with just landing Martell as a transfer and flipping plumlee from UGA.

It allows room for the 2020 QB out if Jacksonville.

Go Canes

Hurts has absolutely nothing to do with a 2020 QB, so I’m not understanding what you’re saying here.

Hurts would be the most important recruit of this cycle right now. Land Hurts and we step right in to a top 40 offense and start off Manny Era with ten wins and a trip to CHARLOTTE the first Saturday in December. Don’t, and things are a lot more “interesting”.

After all we’ve been through, I want that security.

My prediction. Hurts chooses OU and loses the job half way through the season to Rattler. Martell chooses the canes. Doesn't receive his waiver and has to sit in 2019. Jarren leads us to the ACC championship where the canes fall short due to a last min Lawrence td. Canes dominate in a New Years 6 bowl against an $EC team. In 2020 Martell transfers to Nebraska where He leads the Cornhuskers to a Big Ten Championship win over Buckeyes. Plays the Canes in the Naty and loses a shootout against Heisman Trophy winner Jarren Williams as the Canes win their 6th National Championship. The End
Sounds good, but it’s very troubling to me that JW couldn’t beat out Rosier even as a freshman, although one might say it’s because Richt and lil Richt were making that determination and they sucked.

He is graduating after only 2 years of college? that doesn't make sense.

I don't see it with Tate. Y'all keep calling him Miami Martell like that makes his game more impressive.

Watch his film in a * uniform and tell me what's so special about him. I'll take him to compete with our other QBs but stop acting like he's the hands down answer.

Are we sure that he couldn't? It was constant about Rosier giving the team the best shot and I always saw that as Richt playing not to lose so keep the vet in which cost us but I never thought Rosier was actually better

I'd rather roll with Martell than Hurts. Hurts was the incumbent and he couldn't beat out true freshman Tua. Also, the kid may be a great leader but he can't throw the football and he won't have the best offensive line in college football in front of him. He reminds me of a Bob Griese, good player but is surrounded by great talent that makes him look much better than he really is. I'll take my chances with Cade, Perry, and especially Williams. Adding Martell would create a lot of excitement and competition. Don't believe Hurts is coming and not concerned at all. Remember, all three of our present QB's had lousy coaching the past few years and that will change shortly. GO CANES

Based on your logic that hurts didn't beat out Tua, Martell is leaving OSU bc he thinks he cant beat out fields before even stepping on the field. So...what's the difference?

Highly disagree, tate martell has a great arm and is very mobile.

No I’m not, the Richt factor was covered in the post.
