Man ****, I will fix it when I get home, Sorry my phone doing its own thing!!

If his tape is so great why in the world is he going all the way to Maryland to play?

Who cares why he committed to Maryland. He's got offers from Clemson, South Carolina, Tennessee, LSU, etc.

Maybe he visited Maryland and liked it. Ever thought of that?

Regarding Martin...

I gotta wonder how a stud D-lineman in Alabama failed to gain offers from any of the big colleges in that area. Other than his South Carolina offer the rest of the list is pretty pedestrian. No Bama, no Ole Miss, no LSU, no Mississippi State even.

Like I said, I have faith in our staff. Just an odd pick-up to me, that's all.

Exactly lol. LSU has like 5 or 6 top Linemen committed. No way he could go there, or Clemson or Tennessee.

You're touting Thompson, but he doesn't have a Big 3 offer either.

And the only 2 that are happen to be his final two... Maryland And South Carolina

Kool liked him @ Mizzou... I'd say a group of Coach Kool, Durkins, and Muschamp like you at DT then your legit...

Maybe we could do better here, but, given the short time the staff has had to work, ill take it. I'm tired of giving passes, but, for this staff they can have a pass this year. I expect different results with a full year of recruiting ahead of them.

We passed on a good DT at Ft Lauderdale Dillard. Kid waited for UM...no offer...finally chose Maryand

Kool offered Thompson and Martin at Missouri

Theres NO reason to believe we passed on Thompson. You're just throwing **** against the wall and saying anything you can to down play and criticize the efforts of the staff.

Could we have done better than Martin? Sure. But with less than a month on the job for the staff (all were hired during dead period),its pretty apparent that Kool likes this kid and did a good job getting him.

I understand not being thrilled about martin but yesterday we landed a top dt nationally in Jon ford so I wouldn't stress too much

And Thompson just decommited from Maryland

No, I don't know that, and neither does anyone else on here.

People (on here) were saying the same thing about my boy Dowels when he had offers from TAMU, Oklahoma and Clemson but chose Syracuse. Those offers were 100% but he genuinely liked Cuse.

Not every kid chooses his "biggest" offers.

Yeah, but he's got offers from schools of the same caliber. I don't put too much stock into a kid not having offers from our Big-3. Our state is over saturated with talent. There's no way the Big-3 can offer/sign all of them.

My guess is...he's not exactly a "stud". Probably more a third tier recruit. I think he's a nice prospect, but I think if you look at him, as a prospect, the indicators seem to point to him being more of a developmental prospect for a big school. Mizzou, despite producing some very good defensive linemen of recent vintage, aren't exactly taking a ton of four and five star kids. The players that have excelled there, outside of Sheldon Richardson, have been developmental prospects for the most part, and I'd throw Martin in with that group.

Miami, this cycle under Golden really swung and missed. Richt showed up and made a valiant attempt to get in on some bigger prospects, but fell short, so, you get the fall back to one of Kuligowski's guys from Mizzou. I'll take Martin as kind of the last possible option of offers since he gets that nod from Kuligowski, but I think your concerns are valid. We really needed at least one interior player this cycle though, and at this stage of the game, you're essentially looking at reaches anyway.

Thompson is definitely interesting, but he and Martin are about the same caliber, IMO. I think if you take both, you're kind of loading up for the sake of loading up on players that aren't exactly Miami-quality. The eyetest shows neither being much more than rotational guys in an optimal setting, but we'll see. I'd hate to see another South Florida kid get away and succeed, but I think these two are a push when compared.

Well said. He's just a solid guy who can get upfield a bit and fits the scheme. Next year they will aim higher.

I'm more excited to see what McIntosh, Norton and Willis can do.

Clemson wasn't playing for National Titles at the time. I'm more confused as to why he didn't commit to Oklahoma on the spot and/or didn't even take a visit to TAMU.
