Two Miami players arrested last night

Very minor incident. But still sounds like they were being dumb by not listening to the cops. Nonetheless, they were still the first players to end up in jail on Richt's watch. So I can imagine it will likely not be a very fun spring for either of them. And they will likely miss a game or 2 so that Richt can set the standard.

Also worth noting that the only side of the story told in the article is that of the cops.
And, cops are notorious liars. I still marvel at Hitler trying to kill all the Jews, when there were so many cops available to target.

If he killed all the cops, who was he going to use to round up all the Jews to send to death camps?

It's so easy NOT to get arrested. SMH at today's youth.

I'm no fancy lawyer but shouldn't there be component charges here to which they were resisting....without actually resisting....arrest over?

Not necessarily. They could have simply disobeyed the cops when warned to stop something or have been verbally threatening and then chained up. If there was any booze involved, it probably could have just as easily been a public intox.

The US having more of its citizens in jails proportionally than any other country on the planet would seem to contradict that assertion.

Uhm, North Korea IS a jail.

So you're saying that the US is actually second to last and the only country worse is North Korea? Well that's certainly reassuring. When you realize the US is in esteemed company with counties like North Korea and Russia, I can't believe it ever bothered me.

It does not contradict anything. People breaking various laws get arrested. People who choose to disobey and not comply with law enforcement get arrested.

It's easy NOT to get arrested, but most lack that common sense that isn't so common.

If an officer tells you to get on the sidewalk so you don't get hit by car, you should probably get on the sidewalk.

In the grand scheme, is this a petty arrest? Absolutely!

Could it have been avoided if our players listened to the officer?

Absolutely!

Thats some really dumb ignorant sh*t to say.

I know right? The things the Admins around here let slide. They band Cubanas or Cubana whatever the name was for calling out some of these guys for the BS they were saying. Then you read one post today about 4 UM Players Arrested and it take 4 pages for it to turn racial and ignorant ****** comments. Some attitudes will never change.

It is my understanding that the officers asked them 5 times!!!. Chances are they were either drunk or high. I hate to think they are just profoundly stupid. Regardless, they and they alone brought embarrassment upon themselves and the University of Miami
