This is great. Richt doesn't take arrests lightly. If you think he isn't going to make an example of the first 2 players arrested on his watch, you don't know Richt. Regardless of whether the charges are BS or not, you got 2 players that were at the wrong place at the wrong time. Fortunately, we have a pretty cupcake schedule the first 3 games.

did you bother to read what happened?

Didn't see any story about the incident. Just saw they were arrested.

It'll be interesting to see how UM handles this with a new president in charge.

From almost the moment she took over Shalala was obsessed with assuring the media, and later the ACC gentry that she had things under control and was keeping a firm hand on "those" players lest some blue blooded woman from Chapel Hill be forced to clutch her pearls, throw the back of her hand across her forehead and faint at the sight of "thuggery" of UM athletes.

Hopefully Don Julio won't say ****, and if he does it'll be along the lines of "Breaking the law is bad, but this really ain't **** and we aren't going to pretend it is to try and show off to the people who are going to hate us no matter how much we try to impress them."

Very minor incident. But still sounds like they were being dumb by not listening to the cops. Nonetheless, they were still the first players to end up in jail on Richt's watch. So I can imagine it will likely not be a very fun spring for either of them. And they will likely miss a game or 2 so that Richt can set the standard.

Might mean more reps for Milo and St. Louis this spring.

Height and weight probably taken from Jones' drivers license, which he likely got when he was 16.

Is being fat and sloppy an arrestable offense? I better stay in if it is.

Little details are starting to leak. Word is they tried to run from the cops but took 3 strides, gassed out and started tapping their afros.

I would laugh if I didn't think that's what actually happened...

I hope they weren't trying to block any speedy cars.

If the cops really wanted them to move they should have pretended to call a play. Both of those dudes would have jumped early.

Also worth noting that the only side of the story told in the article is that of the cops.

On the Miami football arrests, looks like nothing to see here. There are no plans to prosecute neither Darling nor Jones. Move on.

And, cops are notorious liars. I still marvel at Hitler trying to kill all the Jews, when there were so many cops available to target.

or used the old donut on a stick trick...their 10 yard shuttle times would've been eye popping

Lulz, arrested for jaywalking.

Throw the book at them.

lol@them getting arrested in their UM gear. i'm guessing they were trying to impress/pick up spring break chicks. just goes to show that coach richt has his work cut out for him in bringing us back to greatness. if this was 2001 the officers would've asked them for autographs and let them go.

on a related note: miami beach police are the worst in south florida and it's not even close
