You can't self impose after the fact. This shows we didn't self impose 2013, we just missed on recruits.

What are you talking about? Nobody is talking about self imposing.

Lets say the NCAA was going to tell us we can only sign 22 kids (82 on ship in total), then maybe the staff was getting ready to run the team with only 82 total scholarships i.e. take a few less kids in 2013. Maybe now the staff and schools feels confident that we get nothing and want to make the ships available now.

Or maybe this kid is coming in as track and they don't expect him to play in a live game of football for 2 more seasons, so he's costs them nothing, and they get to evaluate him as a player and as quality athlete for the scout team.

Perhaps.

Males get 13 scollies for track and most of those are split. Unless he is elite then it wouldn't be a full. Obvious sprinters get priority so it could be full. Miami started looking for players right after NSD. We are covering misses. This wouldn't have helped set us up either. If the NCAA says we can only take 22 then that's all we can take. It's pretty obvious we expected to get some players we missed on.

I am not concerned with track at the moment. Missing on players happens, everyone misses on players. The question is whether you fill the spot temporarily or leave it unoccupied.

FYI new information came out around NSD (in regards to our investigation).

It's also pretty obvious several guys have left the program in the last few months.

Perhaps but we keep adding and I believe we got 1 more we should add soon.

Played in the same backfield as Dami Ayoola and Fred Coppet while at St. Thomas(also obviously dorsett & jelani)his sophmore and JR years and then he went to heritage where he obviously was in the same backfield as Sony. Just saying this kid may surprise a few. Heading into this past season I thought he'd put up numbers similar to the other big time backs if Sony wasn't coming back to full strength. Has that MAJOR sleeper potential. I can almost guarantee he'll be strickly offense here.

We keep adding because guys keep leaving. Looks like Briscoe just quit. So there's another roster spot for a guy who might actually contribute.

We just added a guy Clemson did not want. Why not bring in a bigger class next year and count some on 2013.

We could use our 2014 early enrolles toward our 2013 class which would mean we could sign in excess of 25 kids for 2014. I'd rather do that than pick up some projects for last class. We all know 2014 is stocked and we should take advantage by signing more than 25.

Because he adds depth. If it is a complete failure and he's a waste of a scholarship, he could transfer. A year ago, people had high hopes for Briscoe, now look where he's at.

I prefer the live for today approach because, as you are seeing, there is ALWAYS unexpected attrition every year and spots always open up. As for Clemple turning him away, that's a non-starter. I don't see ***** Swinney as the ultimate arbiter on football talent.

This costs us nothing guys. A total win-win. He will practice with the team and if he earns a spot on the field, he earned that scholarship. If he doesnt end up playing in a game this year he could redshirt and try again the following season. If he doesnt cut the mustard he can just concentrate on track or transfer.

Interesting. I saw the game between this STA team and De La Salle high (from out here in the bay area). After STA pulled away, they put in a backup running back who also ran all over DLS, but it wasnt this kid. It was a fast, smallish, Italian kid. He scored the final TD for STA. i dont remember seeing this Tucker kid on the field that night. Working from memory here so I might be incorrect, but that's my recollection.

Linebackers don't run the 110 hurdles. I hope he does well and I don't think Mike Rumph is going to give us a filler. My main concern is why after not ending signing day very well we are still signing. I can't remember a time where we have taken this many after signing day. We clearly missed out on some guys we expected last year and a lot of the board used the excuse of "self imposing". Look at our recent hires as coaches and it goes to show that Golden thought the same and knew NSD wasn't going to be a little difficult. His hurdle time is good enough to qualify for nationals in the B group this year so his speed is pretty legit. I am not sure why everyone is so upset to admit the past year we didn't do as well as we needed to in recruiting and now we are having to take some chances on some guys that are not well known.
