Is he coming on a track or football scholarship?

the minute you step on the football field you count as a football scholarship. Rule in play so schools like Alabama couldnt stash players on track, wrestling, etc etc scholarships to get around the 85 limit

Isn't natambu akin Fentress a walk on or swaesey last year or Darrow Hughes?

The difference is they are pure walk-ons. If you are recruited to play another sport (Track) and end up on the football team your scholarship automatically transfers to football. Furthermore, if you have any contact with the football staff, regardless if you are being recruited for other sports as well, your scholarship counts as a football scholarship.

In regards to Fentress he was a pure walk-on. So was Swasey, but he also had his dad's tuition remission benefits.

American Heritage? ............. waits for it
Lets be honest it can't hurt our chances

STOP IT.

It really can't hurt our chances.

Instead of seeing how this commitment impacts our chances with a recruit who chose to commit w/ another school, lets appreciate the fact that this young man has chosen to attend the U and hope he can contribute.

IF S.M. elects to switch his commitment to the U fine if not kick rocks...great athlete but we only need guys here who WANT to be CANES. ***** that "I am a fan but..." shytt

GO CANES and WELCOME Mr. Tucker to the U!!!

Just because they're teammates doesn't mean they're friends.

this could be an alumni favor, a favor to the track team, or maybe golden sees something in him. He isnt the type to offer so he could get a teammate. Yearby is coming here because he is a monster in his own right.

Maybe the thought is to move him over to defense. He actually looked pretty good on D in his tape.

Pete is Sony pretty solid to UGA or do we have a shot to flip him

Wait until our punishment is handed down.

If we get time served I think it puts it at 51% UGA/ 49% UM

If we get another Bowl ban and have to go through the appeal process 75% UGA/ 25% UM

He's stated many times he won't come if he can't go to a bowl his freshmen year.

he can probably end up being a LB if he adds some size...

Another bowl ban would be during this season and wouldn't affect his freshman year and I don't think we are getting a 4-year bowl ban which would affect his freshman year.

Glad to see another pickup but this does go to show that we didn't do a very good job recruiting last year. We shouldn't have to be giving on scholarships in June. I am glad 2014 is looking much better so far. Track gets 13 scollies for boys and they are easier to lose than football so it makes sense for him to want to be part of the football team for not school reasons.

What about the fact that the NCAA tanked their whole operation and perhaps (even what looked like minimal scholarships at the time) we have more scholarships available then expected? So basically, maybe the school expected to be down 3-5 ships. Instead, we have them now as it was unexpected at the time of NSD. We signed Griffin and Elder after NSD, no one complained because new information revealed a change in planning. Sometimes changes can alter things greatly.

Maybe this kid will stay on track till he can actually (if this happens) get on the field.

He won't add 20-40 lbs if he still wants to be a top notch hurdler. I think he'd make a solid safety with his size and speed however.

You can't self impose after the fact. This shows we didn't self impose 2013, we just missed on recruits.
