How would the NOA being after NSD affect how many we tried to sign for 2013? We lose 3 to 4 guys every year and that is why a lot of teams over sign. Paul and Johnson were both expected losses. It looks like Terry might be back. I don't have an issue with us signing a guy or 2 after NSD but 4 or 5 means going into NSD we had no plan b or c guys. Moore would have gone to Miami if we offered him earlier. No recruit wants to be someones just in case guy.

I am saying that it allowed us to take MORE guys after the fact. We all know about Attrition and I am sure they took that into consideration but they also took into consideration RELEVANT NEWS that happened after NSD.

4 or 5 guys could be explained easily, 4 or 5 could be the anticipated or predicted sanctions by the NCAA. All UNKNOWN because we never received the NOA till after NSD. We did not know till we had the NOA which happened after NSD. After NSD Donna wanted to fight and open the flood gates because we finally received our list of allegations. This is very relevant.

As for Moore, he got his offer. The rest is speculative and you can't speak for it, timing doesn't always work in your favor. Sucks.

Are Griffin and Elder plan C guys? Both guys committed after NSD. Both 4 stars with big offers too!

We have had a few recruits be just in case guys, Jawand Blue didn't seem to mind.

Sooo is this kid a LB or a RB?

This kid is a running back all day, he will not add the 40lbs needed to be an effective LB because it will hurt his Track Speed and remember this kid is thinking about the olympics also. Now as a 210 lb RB he can still run track, not to mention he was the 3rd best runnng back in broward county for 2012 according to some. Tucker shared carries so his stats where okay 36 attempts for 343yds and 4td's, allowing him to avg 9.5 yds per carry which is outstanding.

He will be insurance if Dillard can't tote the rock this fall and if OT is not back to his pre-injury form.

Go Canes

Story about Tucker's commitment and being a RB

Nice. I would hope he can stick at RB as we need someone to emerge other than Duke.

The NCAA would not have started any penalties for 2013. We have known for a while 2014 would be the start date. It isn't a surprise we got LOIC so it is something that could have been planned for.

Your not getting it at all. Also, we have dismissed most of your argument i.e. The stuff on Moore and taking plan C guys (Griffin and Elder), but you will likely continue on but who cares since it is a slow day at work for me.

Here is a scenario:

Lets say we anticipated the NCAA giving us -4 per year for 3 years. That means we have 81 total scholarships to give out starting in year X (depending on when the punishment will start 2013 season or 2014 recruiting year). I know they wouldn't start for this 2013 class but...

To be smart the staff decided to take 4 less kids now (this class) and get ready to start the 2013 with 81 total ships. The staff could have taken the additional kids in 2013 but decide to be smart and be ready for the future.

Then on a random day after NSD, we get served with our NOA and it is utter BS (According DS and the school). So they say *** it. Lets use all the ships because we will fight this because of the lack of support for the NCAA's Case for LOIC. This is relevant and after NSD, things change.

On a side note: Please show me the sentencing guidelines for the LOIC, please show me them and how to prepare. I don't think we even believed we would get LOIC but I am sure the school and admin had some ideas that we are not privy too. The way they are fighting this would lead me to thing that the NCAA went to far and overstepped greatly.

I think it is time to agree to disagree.

I have other info that tells me if we had offered Moore earlier we would have got him. I am fine with plan C guys but we don't need 5 or 6.

Now that isn't how it works. They would limit the amount we could take in a said year. Look at the way the sanctions were given to penn state

"For next season and through the 2016 season, Penn State can only sign 15 recruits a year. Most teams can sign 25. Starting with the 2014 season, the Nittany Lions can only have 65 players on scholarship until after the 2017"

Notice they capped both total and yearly amount.

So you saying that suddenly after conducting a vicious investigation that lasted 2 years the NCAA is suddenly going to cave in? We may get off lighter because of things but we are still lossing scollies.

The thing is the NCAA does what it wants, and until someone stops it they will continue to do so. It is really whatever they feel like and I don't think they like us very much.

Track guys: who is a better hurdler, Tucker or Burns?

Track guys: who is a better hurdler, Tucker or Burns?

By their times, burns all day.

Not this year

http://usa.milesplit.com/rankings/2013/outdoor/hs/m/110H?fat=1&cv=&l=0&m=50&cn=&r=usa

Burns had the 2nd fastest time in the country his Junior year but this year Tucker beat him.

Was Artie hurt this year?

Was Artie hurt this year?!

His best time dropped by 0.6.

When it comes to sprints, that is a huge, huge amount. I mean, it's the difference between setting a world record and not even making the olympics.

It's obvious by his times that something was wrong. Not that difficult to figure out, but then again, you are an idiot, so I'm not shocked.

I know this is a time suck for a lot of you guys in here. I enjoy reading the commentary in the duller moments of life. However, it seems like a lot of fretting and splitting hairs going on. This kid is fast, athletic and can play football. Who knows what he can do given the situation? I don't get all the "should've saved this 'ship" talk. If Miami's future comes down to this one scholarship then I have a feeling things aren't going very well any way. These guys are professionals. I think they understand the gravity and impact of picking this guy up. They had a reason to take him, are going to take him and that's that. Everyone says a bird in hand is worth two in the bush. Hopefully this bird does something cool in his time at UM - even if it's helping the track team do something nationally.

Not sure who this benefits. No doubt the kid is fast and athletic, but the film doesn't show me he's top D-1 footballer. If he counts towards track then giving him a chance to prove himself I'm ok with that because he seems comitted to playing football. Fast and Athletic are good ingredients to have.
