Can someone tell coley there is no point in running the read option play if your qb NEVER keeps the ball.

Way we run it, I don't think they're trying to use Kaaya as a running threat...it's more of a play-action, than a read option. Every time I've seen us run it, Kaaya is looking downfield, not at the DE...seems to me we mostly throw a slant off of it. I think Coley is running it USC style, He said He visited them in the off-season.

It's called rpo, run pass option. It used by spread teams a ton. It's not meant for kaaya to run, the run option is for the rb. He has the option of handing it off or passing based off what kaaya sees the defense doing.

Gotcha, that's what I figured.

Yeah, it kind of removes the entire option element. There's zero play action threat with this offense, many times, Kaaya offers the ball on a play action..and the RB is either running off in the flat, or already engaging a DL that's beaten the G/C.

To be fair, there were a lot of slants off that wasted PA motion.

What is the play action to no one on 3rd and long called?

Only reason the game was close is because we have the worst coached offense in the history of the program... Dont know how coley has a job

The defense has played lights out giving up less than 10 points in the 2nd half in the past 3 games

LOL defense played "lights out".

- Man, our players are so much better than theirs. The talent difference was glaring. There wasn't one guy at Virginia Tech I would've taken as a Miami starter. That's the only reason we won.

this cant be serious

- There are 59 seconds left in the half. You have the best quarterback in the conference. Your kicker just banged a 49-yarder with room to spare. And you run out the clock?

It is appalling what Golden will do to protect his friend's defense. Beamer was licking his chops to go after that defense, and his offense stinks. It's sad. Golden was lucky Kaaya bailed him out on the free play.

- This team looks pretty much the same way they did in camp. That's what makes the staff's personnel decisions so frustrating.

- We used every offensive line combination except for the correct one. Darling- McDermott - Linder - Isidora - Odogwu. Gall and Brown aren't good enough right now. I don't know why it took so long to get McDermott at LG. It's been obvious since the first practice. One drive went to crap because Brown got beat at guard and then McDermott got beat at tackle.

- What is Stacy Coley doing on the bench for 3rd downs? There were multiple 3rd downs in the 4th quarter where our best playmaker sat on the sidelines.

Coley asks out of the game everydown not suprising

- And why is Bush still sitting down? I didn't see him in the second half until he was smashing someone in the backfield. Stop with the rotations. Our good teams never did this crap.

Every team in college football does this

- Hope Raphael Kirby is OK. He deserves to finish his senior year.

- Juwon Young is showing his talent. He is big, fast (4.58) and very aggressive. The more reps he gets, the better he will be. He's not a cerebral guy, but his talent and attitude make up for it.

- Artie Burns is making the leap. His click-and-close ability is rare for someone his size. He is just one example of pure talent winning this game.

- David Njoku is going to be a star. He's only a freshman. As he gets bigger and more comfortable, he will make some freaky plays. I like his toughness after the catch.

- Kaaya is already a star. I watch a lot of college football, and I wouldn't trade him for anyone in the country. His pocket presence keeps getting better and he throws a beautiful ball.

- Chad Thomas and Al-Quadin Muhammad are starting to get it rolling. They both have the talent to be household names.

Thoughts on the game didnt include anything about the worst coach in the history of the program coley?

I believe in the last 3 games in the 2nd half we have giving up 7,7,9 points in the 2nd half

What would you call that

Coley is destroying this team we would be undefeated if it wasnt for his inept playcalling and his inability to make any adjustments

I have solace knowing that the next coach will inherit some serious DL talent. AQM and Thomas are beast.

AQM, Moten, Jenkins/Norton, Thomas would be a pretty beastly DL. Jackson I think can be good and Toolbox is a solid.

Too bad LB and CB are so thin.

Don't forget about Gerald Willis.

Agree thats why imo i feel the program is in great shape right now its not like when randy left if golden gets fired there is plenty of talent there to win

we won the turnover battle 4-0 against a team with no talent and we had a 3 point lead woth 3 minutes left...Think about that

This. In a nutshell, this highlights our staff's utter incompetence.

Bottom line....Canes beat a team that will be sub .500 by the end of the season. He will spend the next few days talking up the win over a consistent 9 win program.

This is Golden's M.O.

wait till you see when we have NO DBs left once Corn and Artie leave.

We could give up 10000 yards only thing that matters is 7,9,7 ... Point blank coley is to blame for us not being undefeated

lol. Being selective, I see. If you give up 27 points in the first half and then 9 points in the second half... That's 36 points in a single game and that is not acceptable!!!!!!

^^^^^^

What?

When have we giving up 36 points

Bottom line is we came out in the 2nd half and the defense played lights out giving the offense so many chances to win the game

We scored 23 points on cincy once again we scored 23 points vs cincy....

Facts we should be undefeated
